Help! ebike won't reach full speed!

My Chinese 20"x1.75" folder has 52T chainwheel x 13T freewheel. Unrestricted, it reaches 18mph (20NLS). To get 20mph ridden, you're spinning like a demented Hamster but it is possible.

    BL520 tranzx battery

Yes. Many bike brands use premium cells - Samsung, LG, Panasonic etc - that do cost that much. TranzX use premium cells. Availability has become more difficult and costs have escalated considerably in recent years. Third party sellers on ebay usually use unbranded cells (or branded with names...

    BL520 tranzx battery

Any mainstream Raleigh dealer should be able to help, since in the UK it's really only Raleigh that still use TranzX drive systems on some of their e-bikes, and they would (I assume) still maintain a relationship/account with TranzX. There are some ebay sellers that sell compatible batteries...

    Newbie

I wouldn't opt for a folding bike unless there is some specific benefit to you, such as being able to fold it for storage or carrying, taking on public transport, or general nippiness/handling. I have both a 20" smaller wheeled folder and larger 28" wheeled bikes, and in my opinion a larger...

    ecoride ambassador throttle connection ?

Without wasting too much time on it, it seems it's made in Poland for the Scandinavian market and uses Shimano drive system components branded as their own proprietary drive? The manual suggests it has/had a 6kph walk assist thumb-press lever, not a throttle. AFAIK, Shimano don't do throttles -...

Help! ebike won't reach full speed!

Charge the battery fully to 42v, put it into maximum assist, and then see what it does. These cheaper bikes mostly use a fairly crude type of speed controller that's voltage dependent and also limits top speed by assist level. Provided you're not too heavy it might just reach 15.5, or it may be...

Welcome to the forum Cidergal. I think the Mycle Compact is a great value folding e-bike (I don't know the other models in their range), but possibly not what you're looking for. Take a look at Woosh or Wisper - both participate here on the forum, offer great support and have many loyal...

Email support@fiido.com and let them know your package wasn't received. When that's happened before, they refund or resend the parts you ordered. If there is an easier option I don't know of it: Keeping it Fiido is plug-and-play. Fiido wiring and controllers are proprietary, so substituting...

    Help! Fiido D2 batteries

The best place to buy a D2 battery is here. The cells aren't "premium" and you wouldn't expect them to be at the price, but IMHO they are fair value. The easiest/quickest way to trash them is being hard on the throttle all the time. How old is your battery?

    Advice about an E-Bike

And totally illegal in this country. Not sensible for a regular daily commute unless the OP intends to short-cut across the Dales rather than the roads of Yorkshire.

New e bikes with small ah batteries

A 10.4Ah battery is a 10.4Ah battery and a 7Ah a 7Ah. Assuming the voltage is the same (24v/36v/48v), the only thing that will have changed since 2018 is the degree to which manufacturers will exaggerate the range achievable. My folding e-bike has a 36v 11.6Ah battery and an advertised/claimed...

Carrera Vengeance E - Battery Manufacturer

The UK distributor for both battery types is Moore Large here. The manufacturer for the newer batteries is STL-Tech in Taiwan, and older ones is Phylion, China. I suspect neither would be in a position to help. You could check there's voltage at the output - there may be a simple wiring break...

Carrera Vengeance E - Battery Manufacturer

What's wrong with your battery, and why won't Halfords help? It depends how old your battery is (they changed in 2018/9). Older ones are Phylion/Joycube, newer ones are STL - check the label on the underside of the battery.

Size advice - Juicy Classic and Roller

Welcome rose_15 It's a big purchase: Comfort is more than just frame size, and what suits someone else brilliantly may not feel the same for you. Of the two Juicy bikes you mention, things like the swept back handlebars of the Classic and straighter bar of the Roller will alter riding position...

    LVBU/Easy-Fit/SmartBikeWheel/Ultra Ebike/HABELO

I think it might have helped if you'd first given an overview of what this system is about, and perhaps a link to their website rather than assuming folk here would be familiar with it... because it's completely alien to me, and my initial reaction was "WTF is this guy on about?" For the...

    Power loss

The important thing is you get your bike fixed. But for interest, ebikeswholesale.co.uk website also references Diamond Electricalz Ltd as owner. What they claim to be doesn't seem to tally at all with the records they've been filing at Companies House.

    Power loss

Not just your spelling... Fiido bikes are being named "Fida" Himo bikes are being named "Himir" OneBot bikes are being named "On Bit" It's not just a casual typing error in the title either; the deliberate mis-spelling continues all through their product pages. I'm guessing they're not...

    Estarli E20 Pro

Welcome to the forum sbj72! AFAICS the Estarli E20 is largely the same as the Mycle Compact. That uses a KTLCD7 controller and display. The LCD7 manual is here. It tells you how to access the set-up menu and change the default maximum speed (see "General Project Setting "). Sometimes though...

    Disc brake issues

I've seen dual piston cable on Ali. Why don't you try these? They're a direct swap dual piston hydraulic caliper like the TRP ones Woosh suggested in post #2, but are only £20-24 a pair. They're not full-monty Hydraulics, but better than the usual cheapy single piston cable caliper, and use...

Any retailers selling Fiido provide cycle to work scheme (green commute initiative)

I doubt you will. Fiido mostly sell direct to consumer, although there's a smattering of supporting dealers who sell and service Fiido in the UK. I don't think any of them offer any of the many cycle to work schemes: As I understand it, the schemes cost the retailer money to operate and there...
