    A replacement battery

My own (very similar overall) hybrid e-bike uses an early version 36v M400 with the same control/display system. You can adjust the display to give (on my own bike) a max of up to 28mph assisted. Or use the freely available PC or Android app to change not only the max speed, but any other power...

    Range anxiety

Like MS, I've never been refused. Simply ask rather than assume it's okay, and always buy something... a meal, coffee and sandwich, beer... just something. Like motorists that stop at a pub or cafe just to take a leak and buy nothing... it really cheeses the owners off.

    Tuning cheap 42V charger

I think you're overthinking this. I routinely change the Sans output caps to Panasonic 63v Low ESR caps which are specifically designed for SM PS purpose. The cheap capacitors Sans fit are 50v rated and - lets be honest - total crap: In this application, they're hammered hard and will easily...

    Carrera crosscity bike power problem

I'm always wary when putting (especially laying) my own folding ebike in the boot of my car because the motor cable can so easily be crushed or snagged, or the derailleur hanger bent (especially when driving and the bike could jiggle around a bit). You could maybe first check for wire damage...

    Solar battery charging for ebikes.

It's interesting to hear what others are using. I admire @matthewslack innovate set-up where high generation, compactness & low weight, and conversion efficiency is important, but I don't think that's so important if you're basing your solar in a static garage/shed/house or mobile...

    Inverter/Power Pack

I used this one in my VW T5 for a while to charge e-bike batteries off the 100Ah starter battery. It's pure sine wave, better/kinder than modified square wave. It depends what fusing you have as to what you can draw off a 12v socket, but typical 10A fusing allows a 100w load which is enough for...

    Fiido D4 or D4s

As Scorpio says, the "S" is used to identify models with gears, such as D2 or D2S. AFAICS I don't think there has ever been a D4 without gears though, it's always been a D4S with gears. Fiido changed the display on many of their bikes maybe a year ago now to include a USB port, but in the...

    Battery charging - cost of

No I didn't, because if you're "connected" you're paying the standing charge anyway even if you use no electricity whatsoever. Prices vary markedly depending on where you are in the country, your supplier, and the tariff you've chosen. I just did a quick search, came up with this current table...

    Lightweight stepthrough for motorhome

The one that always seems to appear at the National Camping and Caravan/Motorhome shows is the Raleigh Stow-e-way. They claim that has an all-up weight of 20kg and a range of 30 miles.

    Battery charging - cost of

A back of an envelope way to work it out (crudely)... If your charger is 42v 2A (typical for a 36v battery), it's 42 x 2 = 84 watts consumed per hour. The consumption tapers down in a linear fashion as the battery nears full, and you also need to bear in mind conversion losses / charger...

    Charger stopped working

That either isn't the original charger for your 24v battery, or if it was it's now gone too wrong to bother repairing. You can buy a new charger off ebay for not a lot.

    Charger stopped working

The LED on generic chargers should still light and voltage measured at the DC/output charger plug even when it's not connected to the battery. Beyond the fuse in the plug, there's often a low value fuse (typically 3A) inside the charger, sometimes soldered to the board. If you can open the...

    Wisper 806 noise

I'd expect the manual to state this or the dealer to tell you. Sorry for not meeting your own high expectations... but then I have nothing to do with the supply of your own two bikes. My own 20" wheeled bike doesn't state this either, but as a seasoned veteran cyclist like you, I just expected...

    Wisper 806 noise

Tightening spokes after the first "so many miles" is a common user maintenance task when a bike is new. That's not a manufacturing failure, it should be expected. Some bike makers call attention to this; I haven't seen Wispers Owners manual, but several I've seen do. It's upkeep, not a failure.

    Wisper 806 noise

It's a simple proposition, although I doubt you'd understand. In law, your contract of sale is with the dealer. They have an obligation to help you within the warranty period. Failing that, contact Wisper direct, who underwrite that guarantee. Is that really too difficult a concept for you to...

    Wisper 806 noise

Well, what can I say. Sorry for trying to help by suggesting you contact Wisper with a bike that's still under warranty. Clearly I've been of no help to any users whatsoever over 8 years of contributions despite having 498 "helpful" votes. Clearly, the "5 minute" members rule, and like vfr400...

    Wisper 806 noise

I'm perfectly grounded, thank you for your concern. The point I was making and still make, which you singularly fail to comprehend, is that you have full support from Wisper. Why didn't you use it in the first instance rather than cry wolf on a public forum?

    Wisper 806 noise

Being a member here since 2016, I'm obviously purposefully being very annoying, whereas you, being a member here for all of 5 minutes, are just being purposefully obtuse.

    Wisper 806 noise

I'm not trying to "belittle" anyone. The point is you bought two new bikes. You thought you had a problem. You have a caring manufacturer and a full dealer network at your disposal to assist you. Your first course of action should be to talk to the dealer you bought the bikes from, not wax...

    Wisper 806 noise

The next time my Mercedes starts making funny noises 70 miles down the M4 and I'm sitting on a hard shoulder wondering what the problem might be, am I going to call a Mercedes specialist or join a forum and ask a random number of bedroom sitters with no specific experience of this bike their...
