Your gentle trails look lovely. I cannot understand what makes someone want to attack NHS staff trying to help them, though I guess alcohol and drugs play a part.

Last time it happened to me I was riding my old Marin on a 15 mile circuit and it broke exactly half way round!

Ebike and scooters make cycle lanes unsafe.

You have my sympathy. Bollarded pinch points seem designed to produce friction between bike riders and cars. I always have to remember to look over my shoulder a number of times on approach and then make a decision about when not if I am going to move out to stop any car trying to squeeze...

Another lovely 14 mile cross country ride to work. The 10 mile road ride home was my first properly cold ride of the winter.

Today was my last of six return trips to work using all three of my electric bikes with 128 miles in total. Work start times dictated whether I could enjoy my off road routes to work or just a road ride there and back. As a shift worker my early shifts in the Winter mean it is usually dark...

After having best part of nine weeks off work I am back in harness and rode to work cross country this morning at the crack of sparrows. 14 miles to work through the very lovely countryside and 10 miles home on the road. Last ride of 2018. Mileage 10,366. Surprisingly mild for this time of...

Pretty in Pink Saw this lot at the mighty Glastonbury in a previous incarnation or seems like it now probably very relaxed sucking on the end of one of soundwaves euphemistically termed torpedo's!

I got back yesterday from a skiing trip in Italy with my daughter, so no ebike riding for me. I taught my daughter to ski and she now has the temerity to be better than me. Does that make me an excellent teacher? With the Gatwick drone melarkey we were very relieved to land back in the UK only...

I also remember reading somewhere that the spike in deaths of ebike cyclists in Holland was mostly for much older people who had been tempted back to cycling and then fallen off with much less resilience to the blunt trauma injuries they received.

Ebike and scooters make cycle lanes unsafe.

I have fond memories of borrowing a bike from a Dutch friend I was staying with in Haarlem and riding it from there to Amsterdam, a great ride with a whole crowd of Dutch people on their bikes and being very impressed with the bike infrastructure but amazed at how busy the cycle lanes were and...

Well after my required post operative interview with my occupational health department they have decided that I should be brought back to work gently for the first two weeks on restrictive hours. This has allowed me to set off to work on my Haibike sDuro at a civilized 08:15 from home and ride...

Eddie, oversize tyres at low pressure and loads of mud, whats not to like! That little water course looks loads of fun. As I have said I do cry off my road to work if it is forecast to cane it down but made an exception on Friday as I have not been riding much following my minor operation...

    Commute and some off road?

Andy McNish said E-bikes are already heavier than normal bikes. And ebike users are often heavier than average road cyclists. Mass x velocity = potential for damage. Up their speed to race bike levels that only light bikes with fit riders can usually sustain and then ride them in cycle lanes and...

Hi Eddie, my KTM was bought on a ride to work scheme remotely from a shop in Wales and I did not get a chance to try it for size. I ordered a 19" frame and have found it very slightly smaller than I was expecting but have got used to, and like the agility that a less stretched out riding...

I so enjoyed being out on my non assisted KTM 1964 yesterday that I decided to give myself more of a hill climbing challenge today with one really difficult and technical climb to the top of St Marthas Hill on the Pilgrims Way. I started by climbing from Wonersh common via Rosemary hill up onto...

I did a circuit yesterday on my non electric KTM hardtail aiming to include the gully that I found on my previous ride and failed to climb on my Haibike sDuro Yamaha and then pushed up with some difficulty, only this time to come down it on the KTM. I think that my difficulty getting up that...

    After eleven years....

I picked up what I thought was going to be a spars and repair second Oxygen Emate City at the end of the summer from the classified ad section of the forum for £100 and quickly realized that it had been very little used and would take very little to have it working and now use it along side my...

    After eleven years....

Not as old at just 7 years old but you can see the similarities between the Wisper above and my old Oxygen Emate below showing that as a workhorse these generic Chinese rear hub machines were tough and worked and still work very well. I still use mine a lot for all sorts of tasks including an...
