Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

Hi argoose, yes I have seen this and it is good to have some options to repair and overhaul an older motor rather than having to buy a new one or bike.

Nice pictures Dom T I did not get round to uploading a couple of pictures from a few I took on my ride to work on the 18th of March, so better late than never. The off road route on the Haibike is so much fun and much more of a work out than riding on the road.

We are getting great weather here too. My start times for work this week are dictating riding on the road to work and back, with a real contrast between the very early ride to work in temperatures within a couple degrees of freezing and then lovely sunny and quite warm weather for the ride home...

Beat Bike Toba Crossbar (Bike Log)

Hi Perseus, it is good to see ongoing warts and all reviews like yours. I am doing my own in respect of a entry level Haibike hard tail mountain bike with a Yamaha crank drive system that I bought in 2015 to ride to work and back on including a proper off road route to work and road ride home...

    Rain gear

I am not quite as heavy or as tall as you but still probably around 120kg with my loaded panniers and bought an entry level off the peg Haibike hard tail mountain bike with Yamaha PW crank drive motor and have racked up a serious mileage riding to work and back including a lot of off road and...

    Haibike Battery Test

Zlatan I am no techi but there are threads warning about putting multi meters near the terminals of a Yamaha battery causing real problems.

It is a nice bike soundwave. I could quote that old saying "buy cheap, buy twice", but my own Haibike was an entry level model and like yours has entered its 5th year of ownership with 10,810 miles on it, still using the original battery and has been very impressive...

    Rain gear

I use trespass over trousers that are breathable water proof and cheap as chips. I am currently using a Altura night vision jacket that is cycle specific well ventilated and available in bigger sizes that I got in a sale. I do not think any waterproof stuff stays that way and however...

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

Cheers Eagle, adding to this review now occasionally, is as much for me now, although I hope the odd person enjoys it. I like reading reviews of other bikes but often think that although initial thoughts are useful many are done too soon and you need to live with a bike a bit and put some miles...

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

10,774 Mile 4 Year Update Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha 4 Year update I have now covered 10,774 miles with 4774 miles on the replacement motor and 2056 miles in total for the year as the bike reaches its fourth birthday. The previous motor was replaced under warranty at 6000 miles...

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

Hi Nev I had a look at the link to the bikes and thought that the active line, 500Wh battery and a quality road bike should make a very practical long distance machine. You should have a lot of fun on it.

Well I never, who would have thought it, just look at her now Better than having all the gear and no idea. I have just come back from a boys away on my old 1979 Honda xl250 riding with lads on their new fangled Gas Gas's, KTM's and Husqyarna's, staying in Monmouth and riding in the Wye valley...

    Wind sucks

On my old Oxygen rear hub I try to remember to turn the power down when going down steeper hills. I live at the top of a steep hill and have three main routes up it and choose the least steep so that my old rear hub motor is not labouring in bottom gear where hub motors tend to be least efficient.

    Ridiculous battery prices

Mine is a Yamaha 400Wh battery on a 2015 hard tail Haibike and is four years old and has covered 10750 commuting miles so far and is still working well which I do not see as too bad. If I bought a Yamaha replacement battery when it dies it would be expensive but there is the option to have them...

1000 miles done on Crossfuse E

I see other bikes so rarely on my 10 mile b road commute and on those rare occasions that I do just wave or say hello. If I come across them going the same direction as me I usually catch them up and pass them quickly. I have in eight years of commuting only had one roadie overtake me and keep...

Good idea Nealth. I have probably been lucky not to have had an issue before now as I have noticed when adding air that a lot of pressure has been needed initially to get the air to flow into the tube and I now know why, but the process of removing cleaning and replacing was easy.

Basingstoke - Wisper 905 SE Commuter

I have been commuting too and from work mostly by ebike for quite a few years now and really enjoy it. I definitely do sweat on my commute of 20 to 24 miles round trip but wear cycling gear, allow about half an hour when I get there to sluice myself down and change into my work gear and do not...

Great couple of morning rides to work, the first just as it was getting light yesterday in a sprightly 0" temp of 12 miles and then 14 miles today starting a couple of hours later and 6" warmer, but both superb rides only marred slightly by my front tyre deflating that I think is the presta...
