Yes, I've soon yours and they have the shock absorber tucked well out of the way but they are not easy to find and not always cheap. I have seen one or two on eBay and FB but they are always medium, I would prefer a large and I only really need the frame. This slightly scruffy one on FB is 19"...

Yes, I agree. Against all advice I prefer running my 2.1" tyres at 30 PSI. I understand the low pressure/puncture argument, but I'll take my chances.

Yes, but some envelopes are better than others. "Not that long ago" But not now of course. But you'd still prefer it if your front brakes (at least) were hydraulic disks. I don't think any of that is true. That's pretty funny, I'm pleased we can enjoy some friendly banter :D In other...

Nowhere in that article does it mention E-bikes, which weigh more and have higher average speeds. Consider that mass going fast downhill. Let me ask you a question, how would you fancy cable operated brakes on your car or motorbike? Anyway, enjoy getting torn a new one by saneagle :D

Yes that is true but putting aside rim wear and less braking performance for a moment, by your own account for the best performance from V brakes, the wheel must be true, the pads have to be kept in adjustment and the pads cannot be worn. None of this applies to hydraulic disk brakes (but...

Woosh kit on a btwin tilt900

First of all you need to watch Youtube on how to use a crank puller correctly, I recommend RJ The Bike Guy. RJ The Bike Guy I also stripped threads with a very cheap crank puller so I invested in a good quality one from Park Tool (15 quid) and I've had no trouble since. Park Tool CCP-22 I...

Land Rover MB to electric conversion

Yes Az, all you say is true and definitely the mid-drive option if he MUST keep those white rims  48v for a non-thin bloke plus a dog in a trailer would be wise too. As for mid-drive being best choice for a MTB, that is true if you have a modern £3K 29" mountain bike and hammer it round...

Land Rover MB to electric conversion

Very generous, I'm not sure I would have been so generous. o_O Mate, no one cares about bloody odd wheels on an old mountain bike, just get it converted and get out there before the summer is over! :D Very cool

Help! Spark from my mount on my e bike

I believe that if you turn your ebike LCD screen on with no battery connected, that will discharge the capacitors so you can safely add and remove your battery cradle without getting any sparks.

Land Rover MB to electric conversion

Life would be a lot easier (and cheaper) for you if you could live with odd wheels. Or you could always buy a black front wheel from eBay. So, a fair bit of experience then :D So a 36v would be more than your needs and 48v would blow your mind, also great for dogs in trailers!
