How little do you want to pay....?

The price in your link is not a 'Buy it Now' price, it is a starting bid. It may well go for £400 for all I know, but the list price for this bike is £599. The cheapest eBike I've seen anywhere is the 20" folder on Tesco Direct for £399.

Is this a daft thought ?

You can have one motor and two batteries if range is your concern, like this: Used Electric Bikes - electric bikes and conversion kits You can have two motors and two batteries for speed, but you would need a number plate, insurance etc. Like this: Xipi Ghost

    E-RollingBIKES - bargain alert.

I have no connection with them. They have posted a few new models on eBay today. Worth considering as an alternative to Cyclamatic etc if you are looking at the budget end of the market.........they may be rubbish for all I know but they are 100 quid cheaper rubbish. This folder for example...

    New! Sirocco-Sport from Woosh

Thanks for the review d8veh and thanks to Woosh. You said it fits your 5' 10" self. Did you have much seatpost left to play with? Do think it would fit my 6' 1.5"? (and 90kg) 17" frame looks a bit small (for me).

    Justebikes. Removal of thread.

Well, I tend to disagree, I have seen dealers on here recommend other dealer's products. Certainly they may bring their own product to our attention, I don't have a problem with that. If they claimed anything outrageous, the more knowledgeable members here would soon shoot them down...

Will e-bikes ever enjoy mainstream popularity in the UK?

....and another thing, IMAGE. British people believe it is only possible to own two types of bike. Expensive Mountain bike. Expensive road bike. Nothing else will do. And if they commute they are all Lycra'd up and demand shower facilities when they get to work. The idea of a 'normal' bike...

Will e-bikes ever enjoy mainstream popularity in the UK?

Absolutely, especially in winter when it's dark and raining and if you work out of town and the journey is on un-lit, twisty little roads and car drivers are late for work. My son's teacher was killed by a Chelsea tractor in similar circumstances. I see cycling commuters on my drive to work...

    Come for a ride.............

A good alternative to tobacco is e-cigarettes or 'vaping' You get smoke (or vapour) you get nicotine. You don't get cancer and it doesn't stink, it's your ticket out of fag town, what's not to like? Good forum here: Planet of the Vapes UK Vaping Forums This is some of my vaping kit:

    Come for a ride.............

Very interesting Bob, I love this sort of stuff, as does my son whom I have sent this to. I remember looking out of the Gent's toilet window in The Plough and way below was the railway line that went to Old Town railway station. I used to live in Devizes Road. My son lives in Cricklade which...

    Come for a ride.............

Brilliant Bob, Thank you very much. " the Tourist Information Office " LOL hard to imagine many tourists in there. What history Swindon does have tends to be neglected like the Mechanics Institute. But credit to Swindon for their cycle path policy. I downloaded the pdf you linked to...
