Help needed to find a part!

Could even be a battery from a Stark Bike. Look here, they sell most parts, assuming it is the same spacing/size:- https://starkdrive.bike/accessories/ Just guessing. I might be able to be more definite if you post the actual measurements on a drawing or photo. Andy

Woosh Rio 17 Ah will a 3 amp charger be ok for this battery

Well caught by Woosh! You owe him a beer or three! Chargers are made for each battery voltage, and although I have never seen the results of using a too high voltage, it may not be much fun! He probably saved you a packet with his accurate comment! Just remember that the long term damage to a...

Experimental all liquid-metal battery stays liquid at room temperature and Out Performs Li-ion

Nothing wrong with that, I am sure that if it ever gets to market, all e-bikes will eventually get one. Depending upon the final price of course..... Also, it sounds to me as also being much safer than Li-ion is, so I know that would welcome it with open arms, just for that. regards Andy

Experimental all liquid-metal battery stays liquid at room temperature and Out Performs Li-ion

Researchers claim to have developed a new battery that mixes the best of both liquid and solid batteries. The new design is the first all-liquid-metal battery that can operate at room temperature, and it apparently outperforms lithium-ion batteries. Liquid metal batteries have electrodes...

BrakeAce lets mountain bikers know if they're too big on the brakes

This is not just for e-bikes, but I thought that it could be of interest for many here as well:- If you're a mountain biker who wants to go fast yet maintain control, then you shouldn't overuse your brakes. That's where the BrakeAce comes in, as it's a power meter that's designed to monitor...

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

He has you in his "grip", but he understands Electronics less than my dog does, if that were possible. He chooses to not answer any of my technical questions, because he does not have an answer! He chooses to not post any links refuting what I say, because he cannot find anything that supports...

Are you a fan of Tesla cars and the Batteries you use, and want to build or re-cell a bike Battery with them?

Sad. I only noticed where they are based, until after I posted. Its along and expensive journey.... My apologies to anyone interested. Regards Andy

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

Then where is ( your own words!) "your Horse Shite" on this subject? No links nothing! That does tell a tale or three!! I have seen nothing about cell balancing from you, that is also supported by web links or books or whatever and there are several ways that it is done. You really don't have a...

Are you a fan of Tesla cars and the Batteries you use, and want to build or re-cell a bike Battery with them?

This popped up on my PC today, its of little interest for me, at least until one of my bike batteries will need re-celling, hopefully many more years yet! The matched cell prices seem reasonable, but I am not that current with them, you decide! Simply ignore if there are better supplies of named...

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

Just as I expected, so I have added some other links, proving that is how it happens. It is the same everywhere, how a resistance is place parallel to a cell, and if its charge is too high, with respect to other cells, that cell is wasted of some power. The other method I mentioned some time...

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

This is very exhaustive, but you can pick out exactly what you want to learn easily:- https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_monitor_a_battery This one is most informative:- https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/bu_803a_cell_mismatch_balancing Andy

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

This explains why battery balancing is needed, with some simple and effective pictures:- http://liionbms.com/php/wp_lovtg_cutoff.php Text:- White Paper - Low voltage cut-off: a false sense of security Without a BMS, even with a low voltage...

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

Here is a further simple explanation about cell balancing that might help you further, The cells in the middle show where power is reshared by the BMS, the best way as it wastes far less energy. The cells on the right, are the conventional way, where each cell above the lowest voltage cell, the...

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

Here are the three levels of Kirchoff's Law, which part to you apply to your misconception? https://isaacphysics.org/concepts/cp_kirchhoffs_laws Because you are apparently forgetting that the law applies to the BMS itself, and each cell bank, being connected singly to the BMS. The BMS either...

He actually explained that fully and correctly, you should watch the video again.

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

Fair enough, find a good verifiable video explanation on the web somewhere, that supports all your theories. But do not forget that Li-ion batteries are the same the world over, some bigger, some smaller, that does not change either the chemistry or the science involved. I will happily watch it...

    Mid motor geers slipping

Changing them will simply remove two areas of possibly problems. As the bike is old, does anyone exactly know when they were last changed? I admit to changing chains regularly on my first e-bike, but until the chain started dropping off on each and every ride, I did not change the cassette. But...

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

If you are an electrics/electronics total DIY beginner, this might possibly be less than easy to understand, but if you are an e-bike battery owner/user, it is important to have a "GOTO" place on Pedelec, where you can hear and hopefully fully understand, the true facts about BMS and battery...

    Kalkhoff charger output

The battery may have reached its end of life. Not proper looking after them, reduces them quickly to being an expensive bit of rubbish. What you are seeing, is that the multi meter doesn't not draw enough current to allow the charger to get above the 3% charge current, so the charger shuts down...

    Mid motor geers slipping

Exactly my thoughts. But do make sure (assuming derailleur gears) that the chain spring is correctly adjusted, so that the chain tension is correct. I would replace cassette and chain as a minimum. The front chain ring will also be suspect for later....on a 25 year old bike..... Remember, far...
