    New Electric bike battery required

It still amazes me just how often people buy such bikes without first doing some simple, easy and cheap, web research, or joining an e-bike forum, and asking some questions before buying ANYTHING, new or not! Its the same here in Germany, only the language is different" Andy

    Woosh Rio rear wheel question.

One problem I have seen with Deraileur gears after say a puncture, is caused by the owner simply not placing the wheel exactly where it was both in position front to back, and side to side. The tyre must run exactly in the middle between the chain stays IMHO! I pull the axle back on the RH...

    Cable fault 1E error code

The usual type of reed switch, is a normally open contact, which closes when a magnet comes close. A multi meter on ohms, placed across the reed switch should tell you if it is operating correctly or not. If I remember correctly, possibly some reed switches are magnet polarity sensitive, but...

    Loss of magnetisation with temperature.

Apparently, the magnet has to get very hot to completely "destroy" the magnetism, and some links even claim it needs to get to red heat to do that. I have to believe them as I have never had the opportunity to observe such things, though they do get taught in theory classes... The temperatures...

    Claude butler folding glyde 2011

Just so you know, replacing all the defective cells (the ones that are defective now), does not preclude others becoming defective 5 minutes after you get the battery back.... So it is most unlikely that a good battery builder would only change the defective ones for you - for which he would...

    Battery question

Logic is obviously not your strong point, if you actually consider that to be "proof".....and how you can mix disk brakes up with frying eggs, gives even less credence to your flat earth theories on disk brakes IMHO! Let me gently remind you, that to prove something, as in this case, you...

    Cable fault 1E error code

The "sensor" on this PCB is a reed relay, you can see it clearly in the first photo. Probably no Hall effect sensors..... As its very unlikely both will be used on the same PCB.....

    Battery question

I have to laugh at such comments, as none of you have actually tried this out, or spoken with an engineer, particularly one who works with metal under high temperatures, as he would explain why its worth trying! My experience is that it prevents disk burn/overheating, disk chatter and misshapen...

    Battery question

I bet you fixed it. Flat tyres are especially notorious for range. IMO they were far too low on pressure (not knowing the tyre type!). Pump them up to their allowed maximum... Wear safety goggles while doing that.. Warped disks are bad as wll as badly adjusted disk brakes and wheel bearings...

    Strange goings on...

I agree completely with you! I think that after having looked inside (and altered) a few 12 volt car battery chargers over the years, and built some for keeping camping (leisure) batteries in top form, year in and year out, I can only fully agree with your comments. Most chargers are built down...

    Cassette wear?

As Soundwave correctly mentioned, middle motor bikes are sadly liable to a much higher drive chain wear, and need constant maintenance to preclude such wear for as long as possible. On middle motor e-bikes, the chain, cassette and front ring, pass ALL the motor power and ALL the rider's power as...

How Does a BMS REALLY Work? As it seems that many here apparently do not know exactly!

 If you had a clue how these BMS units work AND you could find documentation, as I did, showing that it worked as YOU imagine it does, you might be onto something. But nobody has found any! What a surprise.....Especially as there are many explanations on the web, all simialr to the ones I...

    Strange goings on...

I think that you are 100% correct. You might add one of those mains ferrite chokes (a big one) in the mains lead, that would usually help. The bigger the better! What does a ferrite choke do? A ferrite bead or ferrite choke is a passive electric component that suppresses high-frequency noise in...

It might help you further, if you could post some clear photos, as it may be available from other sources - just in case! regards Andy

Help needed to find a part!

Thats technical enough. The bad news is that it does not appear to be the same battery or battery plug. The good news is that you may have some sort of e-bike standard pinning, as the pins on my bike are exactly the same number and same distance apart, but at an angle to the vertical. I hope...

BrakeAce lets mountain bikers know if they're too big on the brakes

That could be a possibility. I myself have never ridden an e-bike without them, so I thought it was the norm.....Wrongly it would appear! But I myself, would never consider disabling them for any reason at all! Thanks Andy

BrakeAce lets mountain bikers know if they're too big on the brakes

I have the same effect that if I really "put on the anchors", I might possibly also do a trip! I am really happy with my disk in all respects. But at least on my bike the motor is not fighting the brakes, which IMO could over a period of time, might cause early motor problems. Its probably me...

BrakeAce lets mountain bikers know if they're too big on the brakes

I must do some more reading, I like to keep abreast of such things, even if its not for me personally. Many thanks Andy

BrakeAce lets mountain bikers know if they're too big on the brakes

Many thanks for your friendly greeting!:):p:D But I never let total idiots bother me much, as many were simply born or brought up with poor manners, and when I answer them back in the same way they address me, they cannot handle it. Their problem. Furthermore, their lack of a suitable web link...

BrakeAce lets mountain bikers know if they're too big on the brakes

That would not work for me, as I have brake sensors that stop the motor. Many bikes have them I believe, Andy
