The follow on to Power MOSFETs, will most likely be:- "Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs)

Its comments like yours, and others here, that push my good upbringing to one side occasionally! If you took the time to check up, you would see that I never start being rude, but rude comments may get a rude reply back from me. Your comment is a prime example of initial rudeness, as was the...

    Idiot in a Mercedes

Glad that you are OK. I live in the land of the M.A. (Mercedes Ars*holes), I would not trust them to do anything but wipe out bike riders....Never owned one because of their general Cavalier attitude, which I do not want to be associated with. BMW is a car that I have owned (1982), but because...

My ebike has died. Need help please !!

If the infos already posted do not help, first check (if possible) that your battery voltage is fully correct with a volt meter. If OK, then maybe a fuse has blown say in the controller, though I am told, not all e-bike electronics/motors have fuses. Not all makes of e-bike motors actually...

And you might try turning DOWN your rude and unfriendly manner.... Try and improve on all counts, but I somehow feel that such surprises of sudden friendliness and good manners, are for you totally impossible! What a poor upbringing! But please try to prove me wrong in the future! Remember, you...

Guessing only, but probably the heating effect, no matter how small, causes the wire to react differently to the original shunt. You did not mention which metal(s) were in the original wire, or the replacement. True quality shunts are made to have as little resistance change from temperature...

Dear Whoosh, further development work has not stopped yet! It goes on continuously. We may all get a surprise in the next 12 - 24 months! I am going to simply wait for such work to come to fruition.... Have a great weekend, I am! Andy

The follow on to Power MOSFETs, will most likely be:- "Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs)

A low "ON" resistance is always better, wasting less power, and I am quite sure that the "inventors" of many other electronic components remain busy to achieve just that. Since building my first RC control system, transmitter and receiver in 1956 (or 55, I forget!), I have watched (and learned)...

I feel that you are completely overlooking future developments completely. I, and many others, take a great interest in such future (just around the corner?) possibilities. Perhaps you are just fixed on today, but at least you show the interesting graphic showing how MOSFETs and IGBT devices...

    Cracked Head

It remains to be seen if that is the good news or not, but at least you can ride without any problems, where a crack might have made it dangerous to use! Best wishes Andy.

I anticipate further improvements in that area over the next few years....as do the people designing with them today! Time will tell, as development work carries on, nothing gets fixed into stone.... You may find this document informative with regard to future developements:- Regards Andy

A Spike in EVs Means a Spike in Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) by Jake Hertz Although as far as I am aware, they are not yet in general usage in e-bike controllers, it may not be long in coming, so if you are one of those people who is always interested in staying up to date, you...

    Electric bikes discredited

Its the same here, but I found a great trick, that works brilliantly with most of the ones passing sentence. Simply tell them that until they have ridden one, they are clueless and uninformed! Then offer them your steed for a test ride. They generally completely change their tune! Especially if...

    Cracked Head

If truly a weld crack, it looks as though after welding, the manufacturer did not "de-stress" the metal. There are several ways to do it, but generally I believe that the welds have to be heated up and slowly cooled, but there may be more modern methods that I have not heard of..... Dreadful and...

    China Bashing

Politicians, just about the same in most countries too. It is a fundamental fact of life and is fully explained in a book I read many years ago called "The Peter Principle".
