    does wheel size matter?

I've fitted TSDZ2 to bikes 5 times now and one of the bike's had a similar downtube design where the cables exit the frame - so a couple of problems I can see are: On the bike I did I had to cut away a bit of the frame (see pic below) to allow the TSDZ2 to fit in the BB Those two cables - I...

trend towards concealed cable on newer bikes

What about an older style used bike with more conventional cable routing? I recently acquired a hybrid bike with something like 200-300 miles usage - although around 8 years old it had been stored in a holiday home in portugal for all of its life - a real bargain at £150 Alternatively, an older...

    Clothing in colder weather?

Yes- I have a RAB down and feather jacket - one of the lighter weight ones, not the 'go into the artic' type, but I do only wear it when it's really cold (as in under 4degC). I cycle quite vigorously and don't sweat, but then again I don't sweat much ordinarily. As said, they aren't very wind...

Comment on another sad e-scooter death

Now various agenda of EV have been aired..... back to the OP It's tragic that that girl has died, what ever the circumstances and some sympathy is due to the poor soul who has caused the death (not responsible for it I hope, just an innocent road user - but the Independant article thoughtlessly...

    Help! TSDZ2 creaking noise

Yes, I have this motor on 4 bikes that i look after (mine and 3 friends) As @Peddlin' Pedro said above My first instal was on my own bike, a Dawes Super Galaxy and like you I experienced what sounded like a squeek from the BB area when pedalling - it drove me nuts. Now, I've been maintaining...

    Slime.

Cycling UK review some of the tyre seating tools in this link HERE. And as general read on fitting tight tyres, Spa Cycles posted a YT clip HERE on getting the Marathon Plus on by hand.

    Woosh DWG22 installation, horizontalish dropouts

I fitted a standard rear rack battery to my Tortec pannier rack using 'P' clips screwed into the normal battery pack mounting holes. It was a bit fiddly but do-able if you don't mind the faffing around. The battery per se doesn't minf which way up it is but you do of course need to check that...

    Slime.

As suggested in this post there are a number of ways to mitigate the chances of getting a flat (some better than others), but I would highly recommend that you do as you yourself suggest, and that is to get back to basics and learn how to mend a puncture the 'old fashioned' way, ie. taking the...

    Help! Battery and charger compatibility

Welcome to the world of e-biking and your learning experience starts here and I'd recommend you learn as much as you can about understanding how e-bikes work. The more you get to understand the more you'll avoid potential problems and getting told a lot of bullsh1t from (some) suppliers.

    Battery care question

@guerney - the timer I showed in the pic above is a 'one shot' countdown timer - you press a button to increment the ON time from 15min to 9hr and once it has' counted down' the switch goes OFF and stays that way (although it does have an optional repeat function via another buton which of...

    Battery care question

I always charge via a countdown timer just in case I forget to unplug the charger. Product below is from Amazon.

    Battery care question

@Brian park - I have a friend who bought a used Bosch motor driven bike but no battery keys. Finding a blank key was easy but not the key code used for cutting it. Later in his ownership he took it in for a Bosch dealer for service and there on the service printout was the key code - maybe you...

    Battery life

It was the Marconi made radar type 909 used to guide the Seadart Missiles found in the Type 42 (Sheffield Class) destroyer. The radar beam could in good sea conditions track a one metre square test target to in excess of 70 miles - when I say 'track', that's knowing it's postion within +/- 10...

    Battery life

Just to say that water has, in electrical terms, a resistance, so technically water ingress won't cause a 'short' circuit. I've no intention of putting this to a test, but I'd have thought that water across terminal that resulted in a high current would see that same high current quickly heat...

    Battery life

I'm starting to get the feeling that the risk of fires from battery pack problems is getting exaggerated. I mean, power banks have been around for years and I don't particularly recall a rash of fires (or indeed one single one). I saw a clip of an increase in ebike battery fires in New York...

    Winter Tyres

Those bike tyre chains wouldn't fit through my mudguards - an interesting idea though but a bit of a pig to ride on ordinal surfaces. Many years ago I used to fit tyre chains on my car but it was a real faff and the rare occasions they were needed down here in the sunny South saw the chains...

    tsdz2 no power on display

@Brian park - when I clean off my bike I spray it with Muc Off first then hose wash (at normal tap pressure) all over the bike EXCEPT around the motor and other vulnerable connections where I use a wetted soft brush and maybe a cloth to finish off.

    tsdz2 no power on display

The controller is indeed inside the motor casing. The controller itself is encase in a tough compound of sorts but the connector ends would be susceptible to water ingress. Pressure washing of any sort around ebike connections is never a good idea. The motor cover is easily removed for...

    Battery life

This thread has had me reading all sorts of info on batteries (reputable stuff not chat room anecdotes) and the general set of ideas I've come away with (about prolonging battery life) are: ensure by what ever means that your charger is not over charging the battery there are benefits to...

    Battery life

What I'm saying is, how confident can you be, in the absence of a calibrated DVM, that the cut-off voltage (and enabling circuitry) is correct?
