    ASIAN HORNET ALERT.

Just seen my first ever hornets nest. :) Blurred photos as it was raining and I also didn't fancy getting too close to it.

    EX-1 Cassette on Ebay....opinions please??

The Shimano clutch is also very easy to clean and rebuild, but is actually surprisingly durable, and some how always remains crud free.

    EX-1 Cassette on Ebay....opinions please??

I can't pretend that I am a fan of either SRAM or EX1, but what I will say in defence of the cassette, is that by looking after it as you are, I suspect that it will last for seemingly ever. I'd love to get rid of EX1, but follow the same routine of maintenance as you do, and it just doesn't...

    British cycling membership

I would just like to say a big thanks to xena for being kind enough to supply the discount details. :) After a cycling related incident a couple of weekends ago, I might well require some of the legal advice that membership affords. :(

Do you own a second E-MTB??

I used to have two, but found that I was using the full suspension eMTB less and less, and the hardtail more and more. After it sat there for nearly eight months without being used, I sold it on.

Bosch CX "Anti Chain Suck" device?

Two true stories in respect of clipless set up. I pretty much always ride clipless, but my very first time using them was a disaster. I pulled up at a very busy junction at dual carriageway , and suddenly realised that I couldn't get my feet out, as the clips were adjusted solid. Down I went...

Bosch CX "Anti Chain Suck" device?

Use the ring that SW has provided in the link for. It is a very simple swap. I understand your concern ref the clothing, and obviously I would be a fool to say that it might never happen, but all that I can say is that in the many years that I have ridden without one, I have yet to have had an...

Bosch CX "Anti Chain Suck" device?

Two easy ways to resolve chain suck. The first is to make sure that the clutch on the rear mech is working correctly and engaged. The second is to remove the sprocket guard that you still have fitted. The day that I removed that, was also the day that chain suck stopped. :) As you can...

    Bosch reliability

I wonder if the cycle shop actually meant that the pawls in the free hub body had failed, rather than something related to the drive unit. I have no idea if this is even possible, or what would happen if they did, I'm just thinking aloud.

Lights (yes, again but with a slight twist)

Sadly the F3 has been discontinued now. There are still some on Ebay at nearly twice the price that I paid! The downside of them being discontinued for me is that I have now broken two of the handlebar mounts, and they don't seem to be available any more. I'll have to bodge something up if I...

Lights (yes, again but with a slight twist)

Thanks SW, I'll just stick with my Magicshine Eagle f3.

Lights (yes, again but with a slight twist)

And why would anyone pay nearly £40.00 for it, when they can be had for under £14.00 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5000LM-XM-L2-LED-Head-Front-Bicycle-Bike-Lamp-Headlight-Hunting-6400mAh-AC/163779326051?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

The poor old camera wasn't too impressed by tonight's heavy rain. Finally some decent riding conditions.

    Introducing the Woosh Faro

Really like it, except to say that the brake hose routing for the rear brake doesn't look great, and the cable to the motor sadly looks even worse. Both need to be tidied up, as they currently look self build.

"Mud Stop" for Bosch CX....500KM Later

After being told by a forest ranger on Saturday that mountain bikes aren't allowed on Ashdown Forest, when I was actually in a public car park and not even on the forest, I agree with you, but want the ammo as well. Yes he did get told to f**k off!

"Mud Stop" for Bosch CX....500KM Later

Unless riding on the South Downs, the soil around is sand based and very acidic and abrasive.

Interesting, as I've never found it an issue. :)

"Mud Stop" for Bosch CX....500KM Later

I guess that I can't be riding through anything muddy enough, and wet enough. Mine have always looked that clean without a Mud Stop fitted. The difference is that my motor cases till have the paint, where the Mud Stop has rubbed it away.

Do you own a second E-MTB??

I'm with Dave on this one. I'd go for the more refined leisurely feel of a hub drive. If it were me, I'd be looking at something like Dave's Rocky Mountain Element. Still my favourite conversion. Bargains are out there though, and in fact a good friend of mine has just bought my old KTM for...

    ebike battery back packs

On mine, there is a full length zip on te side of the hydration pack. On checking, I suspect that what you need to do is lever up the flat plastic collar that holds the lid on. Stupidly it doesn't un- thread, and has to be levered off and push fitted. The bag design is good, but that aspect isn't.
