NATO Forces Test Bultaco Electric Bikes for Fast Response Applications

If the military were looking at electric bike options, I'd have thought that the Ubco would make a better choice. Plenty of cargo capacity, two motors, and if the system operates independently including batteries, the chance of being stranded through failure, might be reduced. It does seem...

Certainly a lovely evening for a ride.

    Just for info.

Another exceedingly tough one. Ridden in approx 50% sport mode, and 50% tour mode. Start and finish point. Perfect conditions to begin with. Neither pleasant or safe. Yet higher up at the finish point, all was good again. Start point was the valley bottom.

One example. I should add that the battery when changed, was worryingly hot to the touch. I would advise a second battery if you really want to tackle of ride of either decent length, or elevation gain. Having to conserve the battery, is never a pleasant experience.

Don't be. I'm using a phone with a cracked screen, and didn't manage to read the elevation gain correctly upon first viewing.

Now that hurt!!! I ride through here at least once or twice or week without giving things a second thought, but tonight, this barbed wire brought the bike and me to dead stop, also injuring my leg. Bloody good job that it wasn't at neck height.

    Comfortable Grips

During the summer months I tend to use Ritchey WCS foam grips on my bikes. A super grip, but not overly durable, and care has to taken when fitting them.

Other than when riding in the snow, clipless all the way for me. Firstly I think that flat pedals just look so ungainly and ugly, but the main reason is constant pedal strikes when riding local terrain. These ruts aren't over deep in this example, but you can get the idea. More often than not...

Superb choice of bike. :) I was beginning to think that I had the only one. :D Out of all of the eMTB's that I have owned, this is by far my favourite. It does everything that I want from a bike and more, and whilst many Boltron fork owners don't like them, I really love them. They have weird...

The first day light ride, in what seems like forever. I had almost forgotten what my local playground looks like in the day time. Night or day, I love this piece of woodland, and often wonder how long that it will be, before it is sadly harvested for the timber.

    SRAM EX1 first impressions review

That very much reminded me of some of the climbs in Switzerland. A lovely narrow road, with amazingly stunning woodland to either side. And yep, I also prefer more gears, with less of a step between changes. .

Why buy one decent bike, when you can buy two.

    Bike transport

Something else for you to consider if opting for the van route. Unless things have changed in recent years, any insurance no claims that you have for a car, are not transferable to a commercial vehicle, so bear that in mind when considering purchase. You will also have to pay more for toll...

There is now a new version of Purion that solves that very common issue.

Don't worry, I have always been the same in that respect, then curse any ride over 70 miles! :D Transferring that to cycles, we should all be riding sit up and beg bikes with wrap around handlebars. Sadly, practically of use and comfort, isn't a very British thing. The best bike that I have...

Bosch crank arm removal - damaged thread

Thinking about this further, and this is without actually checking to see if it would work. Assuming the puller is comprises of two parts, an outer which threads/screws into the stripped crank arm, and an inner that that tightens and pulls the crank arm off, I am wondering whether you could...

On that basis, I really don't get the drop bar riding position. Surely it is always going to be more comfortable and practical to ride a bike with flat bars, and a less radical position, especially when age isn't on your side. As much as I love the looks, I just can't see a use for a drop bar...

I don't think that you are alone with that opinion, and it is certainly one that I have read time and time again. Thinking about it further, you would have be a very fit rider to go on say a weekend club ride with the bike. I have no idea what the average speed is of a club cyclist, but I'm...

You could try wrapping some ptfe tape around the thread of the puller.

Considering that I am not into road bikes, the Bianchi does look rather nice. https://www.rutlandcycling.com/content/bianchi-impulso-e-road-e-bike.aspx
