eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

I really love night riding and although in the last year it has trailed off, I would normally put in a about 2K miles a year riding at night time. A few things have made it trail off a bit over the last year, but I hope to get back into it again. If you are looking for a hassle free light that...

    halfords staff complete retards!

The only time that Halfrauds are helpful, is when they are carrying out their staff appraisals, and are pushing for positive service feed back.

Why are used e-bikes worth so little?

eMTB? :) I seem to have a knack for selling MTB's and eMTB's but road bikes are a no no in respect of buying to sell on again. It is a different market, and whilst I have placed the odd one or two for people, it isn't something that I am keen on. .

There goes my earner for the week. :) .

:D:D:D I'd be tempted to say the Eagle M2, but that opinion is based solely upon the solid mount again. I really love the mounting system on my F3 and the M2 has a similar clip on off mount. It still looks an ugly big light though, and still has two of my own major complaints about the F3, and...

    Bike related hacks and bodges

I use a thin Velcro strap in similar way when taking bike photos, to stop the bike from rolling away.

At least that will save me the problem of sorting logistics. :) Good to both your self and the new owner. :)

Why are used e-bikes worth so little?

Is this the model that has a Bosch Drive unit, Reverb seat post, Fox 34 front forks, and do you still have both battery lock keys? If so, what is the frame size?

Thanks SW. The Magicshine is a superb light, but I wouldn't rush to buy another if it were to go missing. It is quite a house brick size of a light and has too many modes. There is a smaller light in the range that uses the same clip on mount system, and in hindsight, I should of gone for that...

    E Bike Mtb Recommendations

So adding additional cost, and the need for two batteries on almost every ride. For a decent day of riding, you would probably also require a third. I really rate the quality of Focus bikes, but have never seen the point of the battery system that they use.

    Best Five Albums

My taste in music is quite eclectic, and like many, it is still often music more relevant to a memory than individual bands or artists. I tend to listen to anything and everything from pop to death metal to classical. My favourite piece of music is a toss up between Adagio for strings, Samual...

Out of interest SW, what rim tape did you use originally? I'm puzzled about how the sealant had got behind it.

Definitely a bodge with this one. Cable ties as a quick fix for a cracked brake lever mount following a fall. Obviously not a recommended solution. :)

    Bike related hacks and bodges

Admittedly I haven't used this for a very long time, but I did go through a stage of placing two pieces of plastic between the rear of the cassette and the spokes, when applying cleaners and lubricants to the cassette and rear mech, ensuring that no contaminates went onto the disc. It was a...

    Bike related hacks and bodges

I've always had great success in fitting grips using an air compressor and airline. I have a bung that the air nozzle fits through, this goes into the bar end, and I hold the grip that is on the opposing side against the bar and fitted as far as it will go. holding my hand against the grip, I...

    Bike related hacks and bodges

When cleaning and detailing the bike, I frequently like to turn it upside down in order to get to the hard to reach places. I have become fed up of mucking around placing wooden blocks on the ground under the handlebar grips to prevent damage to the display, and figured that the time had come to...

Woman fighting for life after 'e-bike' hit-and-run in east London

Not totally misleading. "It is completely illegal to use these souped-up machines on British roads, of course, yet traders such as Martin Brown, the owner of the online e-bike shop, have no qualms about selling the equipment" The above quote from the article seems pretty accurate to me. .
