    Lost on where to start

Raleigh Array seems to be £999. so cheaper than the Camino but not half the price. Smaller battery (400wh for Array rather than 540 for the £1329 Camino). Camino has hydraulic brakes; could be helpful on those hills. The Suntour system the Array uses has traditionally been unreliable (search...

    E-Go Max

Their range is quoted as 'up to' 90m (56 miles). That will be good flat roads with minimal assist, no wind, etc. Realistically it will be 1/3 to 1/2 of that. Look at https://www.bosch-ebike.com/en/service/range-assistant to get an idea of expected range; even though it's for Bosch it gives a...

    Lost on where to start

Hub motor should be fine unless the hills are very bad. Where are you? People's ideas of 'significant' hills vary a lot. Something like https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?santana3 or https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?camino worth a look.

    battery charging

Even though they are called cadence sensors, very few actually measure cadence (pedal speed); they just act as one/off switches based on whether or not they think you are pedalling. With normal settings PA should kick in regardless of whether you are on hills or flat. With a good sensor that...

    battery charging

Without power for me now it's the middle one makes hills very hard, the small ones makes them hard. With power, I agree.

Dan Walker warns cyclists after bike crash - 'The helmet I was wearing saved my life'

I remember a spoof video (many many years ago before video recorders, let alone phones) of a bicycle powered by bouncing up and down. As it went down a steep and bumpy hill; the rider couldn't stop it getting faster and faster.

    battery charging

Probably not worth recharging after every trip. I tend to recharge when the battery gets down to half, or if I know that we are about to do a longer outing. If you do recharge every time make sure not to leave it on for too long. If you don't have a torque system, pedal assist starts when it...

    Where to buy 48v battery

I've not used that firm, but all the reports are very positive. However, in general a custom rebuild will be much more expensive than a prebuilt stock battery of the same quality; you are paying UK labour for a one-off build rather than Chinese labour for mass production. The rebuild services...

    Not working on high mode

It can happen if the battery isn't up to providing the current the full power needs. That can be an old battery that is losing power, or (especially with high power direct drive motors) just a battery that is not up to the job. You don't say what kind of bike, motor, controller, battery; more...

    Rear hub cassette spinning

Probably stuck or out of position pawls in the cassette/freewheel. If it's freewheel gears that's quite easy, or cheap to replace the freewheel altogether; exactly as for a standard bike. (The hard part is getting the old freewheel off). A cassette hub may be a little trickier; and I don't...

    Li-ion battery testing

Is that really the current capacity of the battery relative to its capacity when new, or is it just an indication of how much of the current capacity the charge has reached? If the first that's great; does it also apply to Bosch batteries?

    Converted bike and rider.

You'll find lots of discussion of the seller's responsibility and the rules around throttles on conversions in other threads. A currently active one on throttles is https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/petition-to-legalizing-throttle-only-ebikes-for-the-disabled.33921/page-3#post-672621...

    Converted bike and rider.

You don't say what conversion you used. Don't forget that if you go over 250w nominal power, or assisted speed over 15.5mph, the bike is no longer legally a pedalec but a moped or s-pedalec, so needs to be registered, plated, taxed and insured. That said, the chance of being caught or...

E-scooters 'are five times safer than bikes' - Study by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents

Not gyrocar #1. My wife's grandfather regularly drove his around London around 1910. I'm afraid we don't have a YouTube clip of it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyotr_Shilovsky He also planned a gyro rail line from Petersburg to Moscow, but various political upheavals in Russia about that...

    erider nearly sold

He's selling the ERider Model 15, but asking about the soodoo, maybe to buy as a replacement? I agree with the other posters, it looks as if customer support on the soodoo might not be that great. The seller might well have good intentions, but that's not enough.

    27.5 bad for road use?

If you haven't already done so, look for prices for completed (eg actually sold) listings of similar bikes. I'd guess around £2500, maybe £3000. A year or two ago there was the extra demand and reduction in supply of new bikes, mostly directly or indirectly due to Covid. At that point fairly...

    What battery capacity?

I think OP was referring to Bosch powertool batteries, and the 6A, 4A is for their much bigger ebike batteries. If it's only 5Ah it's presumably got very few parallel strips, so would have correspondingly lower safe/sensible charging amperage. (as Bonzo Banana hinted above.)

Pictures would be helpful, especially of the whole bike and of the bottom bracket. It may be difficult to find a good place for the battery.

    27.5 bad for road use?

Plastic gears are much quieter; and very easy and cheap to replace unless the manufacturer insists on anti-repair technology. They can also help reduce wear on more critical components if the motor is abused.
