    Greeting! I am new here

If you search around the forum you'll find lots of posts about battery building. Unless you are very sure of what you are doing, and have all the right equipment the summary is don't. Battery fires are very dangerous, and the two commonest reasons behind them seem to be badly built batteries...

Brake mods on an old tourer.

Have the forks got disk brake mounts? And are they up to the stresses of both motor and disk brake? Probably no disk brake mounts and not even cantilever/vbrake mounts? Does it have the terrible side pull brakes or slightly less terrible centre pull? You didn't mention if the rims are steel or...

Replacement battery for 48V Woosh kit

There are different Hailong pin arrangements. Pictures at https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/hailong-battery-connector-dimensions.54034/ They may also vary slightly in height, so if you have a tight fit with a shorter one then a taller on might not fit in your frame. The battery...

Half-ton electric bike poses latest threat to London pedestrians

I thought there was something in the regs that only allowed up to 4 wheels, but can't see it now. Indeed I see (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/electrically-assisted-pedal-cycles-eapcs/electrically-assisted-pedal-cycles-eapcs-in-great-britain-information-sheet) the previous limit on...

New KT controller and display upgrade wont switch on

I don't know this unit, but does the display have it's own battery? Is it in place? Some similar devices have a little plastic pull out tab to make sure the battery isn't connected and to stop the unit accidentally getting turned on during shipping.

Anyone ever tried to implement regenerative braking?

Can one use solar panels for regeneration? Push in some power and generate some heat to warm up the sun?

    Motor run on BSB01

The pedal sensor probably only has 8 or at most 12 magnets. It is going to have difficulty detecting exactly when the pedals stopped turning. A torque sensor would react faster. An optical speed sensor could easily be much faster to respond, but it would be difficult to position so it didn't...

    Newbie looking to rent initially

Enjoy the bike when you get it; I'm sure it will give lots of pleasure. I hope your armoured tyre is Schwalbe Marathon Plus to avoid punctures, or something as good. Just in case you DO get a puncture, as Az says someone will help.

Anyone ever tried to implement regenerative braking?

If (as mentioned earlier in the thread, by saneagle?) you have a battery that can safely absorb the energy fast enough. Maybe if the battery can't absorb the energy you can absorb it elsewhere. For example: to heat the saddle?

    Nasty pothole

One change I noticed on our trip to the Scottish west coast this year is that they have removed all the signs saying that the much improved roads were built with EU money.

Just got my first e bike i wanted to know if i can make it faster raliegh modus

Sorry, I should have said I don't know; but I knew someone who did would be along soon. I expected it would be our main dongle proponent (soundwave), but he is/was in hospital after a fall. The dongle does also mean that some the stats (speed, distance) on the Motus display are incorrect. I...

Just got my first e bike i wanted to know if i can make it faster raliegh modus

Any legal pedelec stops assist at or below 15.5 mph. A legal pedalec basically counts as a regular bike for different regulations. You can legally avoid that restriction if you go for an s-pedelec, but that involves license, insurance, etc, and is not legal off-road in publicly accessible...

OK, it's not a bike, but it is electric... Bubble cars are back!

Not for me ... worrying about low steps as it's getting difficult to manage a cross-bar. I can't image clambering out of a sunroof!

OK, it's not a bike, but it is electric... Bubble cars are back!

Does it suffer the issue a teacher at school had? Drove into his garage right to the front. No reverse gear (*), and no room to open forward opening door. (*) I think it was classified as a motor cycle.

    SWXK2 motor CON63 controller

Thanks. I guess the SWXK2/CON63 combination will not be that different from the XF07/Lishui combination. Maybe nicer control from what some posters here strongly believe. Differences in the behaviour on hills will probably be down to the windings and gearing, and the difference of 700c vs 20"...

    SWXK2 motor CON63 controller

Yes, the seller got his kit from Greenbike and that shows the CON 63. But the Greenbike pages https://www.greenbikekit.com/electric-bike-kit/motor-controller/250w-brushless-e-bike-controller-lcd-display.html https://www.greenbikekit.com/250w-brushless-e-bike-controller-lcd-display.html don't...

    SWXK2 motor CON63 controller

I'm considering buying a converted tandem with Bafang SWXK2 motor and CON63 controller. I'm not sure if its a KT LCD8H or Bafang C961 display; I need to verify with seller. Does anyone have comments on the suitability of this setup? In particular, I can't see the max amps output of the CON63.

    Battery power drops near 25%

The voltage drops as the battery depletes, from around 42v full to around 30v empty, and the power drops off proportionally. In addition, you are likely to hit voltage sag on hills as more current is needed; that can easily be 3v or more. It's a shame that the battery gets tired at the same...

How to derestrict a Boost conversion kit?

Just in case you didn't know: changing that would render the bike illegal to use as a standard pedalec; you'd need insurance and various other details to ride it on the road, and could not legally ride it off road in any publicly accessible place (bridleway, cycle path, canal path, etc) That...

Help! Suggestions for small folding ebike

engwe t14 looks like some weight to carry up stairs. Bike Weight: 22.7 kg (49.9 lbs) Gross Weight: 31.7 kg (67.9 lbs) I'm not sure why the difference is so big, the battery might make 5kg difference. I'm afraid you'll have difficultly finding anything decent at £600. Suspension on a cheap...
