Do any cadence sensored hub motor controllers activate pedal assist when ghost pedalling backwards as well as forwards?

I'm not saying it's practicable; but with an irregular pattern of magnets a single sensor can detect rotation direction. Probably bad for response time. (I thought I'd seen that mentioned somewhere above, but can't see it.)

No, the people who cause the fires with inappropriate usage always skipped school anyway.

Warning; ebike batteries have short lives!

Cycling UK website tends to have more about the Mahle system as it appears to match the requirements of many Cycling UK members. I'm afraid my feeling from browsing that site is not positive. In particular, on batteries https://forum.cyclinguk.org/viewtopic.php?p=1842805 At least the highly...

Changes to selling e-bikes, conversion kits and batteries on eBay.co.uk - No more private (personal) sales.

We had one dramatic failure; 40 years ago on a cooker that was far from new then. A ring shorted making a huge flash. Our daughter (3 years or so) was sitting on the worktop right next to the cooker. I was at the other end of the room looking the other way and the flash was very visible. The...

Changes to selling e-bikes, conversion kits and batteries on eBay.co.uk - No more private (personal) sales.

Except for Please note that used e-bike batteries will no longer be able to be sold on ebay.co.uk Not many business sellers selling used batteries anyway I suspect, so a pretty irrelevant exception. Also To be compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and eBay policies That is probably...

    Does this exist?

I don't see the Mahle X35 mentioned all that much on this site. It gets quite a few discussions on the Cycling UK site (https://forum.cyclinguk.org/viewforum.php?f=55) with its different audience. My impression from browsing these is that it sees more than its fair share of problems. That may...

I agree with most of what you say, and in principle even with that part. However, in practice I think a business that satisfies what Ebay is about to require is less likely to sell dud/illegal/unsafe ebikes than an individual. That is true whether the bike is new or secondhand. It does look...

    Legal EBIKE LOOPHOLES

That says EAPCs that provide electrical assistance without the use of pedals are usually known as ‘twist and go’ e-cycles. It is possible to use these cycles in the same way as any other EAPC. Assuming It is possible there means It is legal then no-pedal throttle without the use of pedals is...

    Legal EBIKE LOOPHOLES

My reading (which I think is the same as Wisper's) is that you can have a throttle that works above 6kph, and that you don't need to pedal, but you do need type approval. Also you can have a throttle that works above 6kph as long as it only works when you are pedalling. eg just a different way...

I find 2 extremely unlikely as well. I don't believe it could twist that much without snapping.

    ETM upgrade for BBS01B 250W

Many controllers have a way of setting walk mode independently from any throttle. The walk mode on my Lishui/XF07 is too fast though. It'd be fine on the flat (where I don't need it), but not going up steepish slippery chalk paths (where I do need it).

Does anyone experienced a lcd lag?

For any parameters that change slowly the lag is irrelevant. For any parameters that change quicker there is probably variability in the parameter and noise in the measurement. If the ldc refreshed faster it would probably be changing too fast and make it difficult to read.

Adding a 2nd battery in parallel to original. Apollo Transport 24v

I think the 30Ah claim is probably rubbish. I'd be very cautious joining them in parallel, even if you could ensure they were equally charged (to within 0.1v or so). People have paralleled batteries with appropriate diodes to prevent the problems of one trying to charge the other; someone may be...

    Wisper Biker Repair

What sort of cycling do you do? What do you expect from the bike? It is designed as assist, not as a motor only bike. It's not going to complete with a typical (illegal) bike ridden (dangerously) by many delivery riders. That said, on full assist it should give a huge amount of help. Is this a...
