    New business

A quick look there is a note quite low down on the page https://reddragonebikes.co.uk/shop/bafang-bbs02-500w-48v-36v-mid-drive-motor-kit-with-display-sw102-or-c961-plus-free-brake-sensors-or-levers-free-bottom-bracket-tool-free-front-light/ that says UK Legal Status The Bafang BBS02B is not for...

    Which ebike to choose?!

Depends a lot on tyre style, size and pressure, but I don't feel I've benefited much from suspension.

    Speed restriction

Technically that change is likely to be counted as an 'off-road switch' and hence illegal on the road even if temporarily tied to 15.5mph/250w. The definition of an 'off-road switch' is very vague. Also if you are riding off-road in an area generally open to the public (such as bridleways...

    Help! E-bike convert to throttle

You need to give lots more information on the bike. What kind of bike, and especially a model number or photos of the display and the controller. The controller may be hidden in the battery mount.

    Light e bike review

Almost true while riding it, but not the case if you have to lug it anywhere. A perfectly strong friend has recently bought an ebike to permit her to do a 15 mile each way commute she couldn't do on a regular bike. While testing different bikes she came to a conclusion that goes counter to most...

    Di Blasi R34 query

You can get better hill climbing with a mid-drive, and Bafang is a good choice. A mid-drive may well get in the way of the folding mechanism, front drive is less likely to. Battery position is another issue. You may be able to fit one on the rack. It looks as if the R34 has arranged a little...

    Di Blasi R34 query

specs say Engine: 24V – 200 W Li-Ion battery pack: 24V – 8,5 Ah; weight 4.2 kg Range on flat road: more than 24 km That's a fairly weak engine and low powered battery. It will be very challenged by significant hills, and will have a poor range if it gets at all hilly. Maybe 12km but that...

Raleigh motus tour or hi bike trekking 4 can’t decide .

We've got a relatively old (2016) Motus, step through with hub gears, and it has served us well. You'll be that much older as your new bike ages; I really recommend step-through even if you don't need it now. If you are happy with derailleur there are quite a few similar good ones from Cube. A...

    Chain length

It's generally best to avoid biggest to biggest as the chain angle is too great and will cause wear and inefficiency. However, it is convenient sometimes to be able to get it, so best to have a slightly longer chain as long as it doesn't affect anything else badly.

Please keep it simple, regarding what I need Thanks

We've got front wheel on the tandem and it works well. (More oomph would be helpful but that's another story.) On a solo bike they can lack grip on steep slippy/gravelly roads/paths, especially if the controller doesn't give smooth power delivery. On the tandem the two wheel drive effect has...

Please keep it simple, regarding what I need Thanks

Decidedly dodgy. The clearly describe an off-road switch which is explicitly ruled out in the legislation. There can be some legal doubt if the switching is very difficult to do and can't be done while riding (eg reflashing firmware); but they emphasize the simplicity of use of the switch so...

    Tire Pressure....

Yes, surgery yesterday. (At the computer now reading forums to keep my mind off it, but not too bad really.) Not quite so exotic as you suggest. We'd hung our inner tent up to dry on the stairs (Our daughter and son-in-law had borrowed it for a festival and the last day it rained, typical). I...

    Tire Pressure....

Many (?most) riders here don't anywhere near double their average speed when they go electric. My average speed on an ebike till last week was below what it was on a regular bike 10 years ago. My highest speed (downhill unassisted) is also a little lower because I'm more careful than I was. (My...

Driver who killed cyclist then buried body is jailed

When I lived in the north-east it would be pretty irresponsible to drive out in much of winter without a couple of sacks and a shovel.

PLEASE HELP (CARRERA CROSSFIRE 2 FAULT)

Sadly the Crossfire is notorious for faults as you'll see searching back in this forum. There was some hope that updates in a newer model had improved things, but it appears not. The advice to go to Trading Standards and Citizen's advice is good. Good luck with getting this resolved.

    Help needed please

A common and simple problem is if the connection to the motor is not pushed fully home. It may well be on the cable from the motor about half way up the forks. It needs to be pushed really firmly; there are often little arrows that need to come completely together.

    Batteries Charging Routine

Bosch certainly sell faster and slower chargers (4 and 2 amp I think).
