    Dead hard drive data recovery

I use a program called ZAR (Zero Assumption Recovery). £35 in 2008; lifetime price, not rental, including all updates till they finally stopped support a year or so ago. Quite dated but very effective. It was much better than my experiences with Easeus for recovery, though I still use Easeus...

What do you think of my new bike?

I never know why so few racks have that.

Bafamg mid drive - where to buy

As long as the advertising is clear (as it is when you see 'trade member' discussing their own bikes) it makes for a broader set of opinions. Of course, as with any forum or review site, you need to interpret every post carefully.

What do you think of my new bike?

Looks as if the 'software flash' might be quite limited in use For the modification, dealers must be equipped with our specific wiring, available from September.

    Shiano Bikes

Just noticed there is an Amzon special on the 7 speed Nexus. £534.87 https://www.amazon.co.uk/F-lli-Schiano-Womens-Moon-Bike/dp/B09VLGZTMD?th=1 Clearly not the world's best ebike, but could be just right for some people. Sensibly for the price it doesn't include front suspension.

    New battery

Raleigh are certainly pessimists. They also say (on the same page) How long does an e-bike battery last? As a general rule, a good electric bicycle battery typically lasts around 2-5 years. (https://www.raleigh.co.uk/gb/en/electric-bike-knowledge/electric-bike-batteries/) Combine the two...

Can't get my leg over anymore

I was about to recommend Woosh Santana; but Woosh got in before me. As you'll see from other posts on the forum, Woosh have excellent customer service. Much cheaper than the Volt. The smaller battery on the Santana has more capacity (540wh) than the larger on the Volt (504wh). The Volt does...

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

Very basic exerciser, no power needed. We used it just to give a chance to keep the knee moving/flexing. It does have an option for friction resistance, but we never tried that. Reviews indicate it doesn't work well. Yes, Bosched Motus. I used it on quite high assist level as soon as I hit a...

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

My knee felt if good shape today so I gave it a go. A teeter round the block then a slow flattish 3 mile trip on very quiet roads/cycle path. I did take off the left (bad knee side) half toe clip. It looks as if my excuse for not doing the local shopping has gone away.

    New battery

Another source of what seems to be the 'standard' Stowaway battery: https://www.jejamescycles.com/product/9355806/tranzx-tranzx-stoweway-battery/option/ or recelling https://www.countybattery.co.uk/battery-repair-service/tranz-x-36v-8ah-lithium-e-bike-battery-pack-rebuild-and-repair-service/ I...

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

Mine looks a bit like that, except that it starts a little above the knee and doesn't extend so far down. I forgot to ask about cycling explicitly when I saw the doctor just over a week ago; about 2 months after the op, which was just over a week after the injury. I expect to start (electric)...

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

My recent patella tendon repair (including strengthening by stealing a bit of hamstring) most certainly wasn't keyhole surgery (unless one of those medieval keys).

Suggestion that delivery companies should check their riders bikes are legal !!!!!!

Neither situation is directly related. However stupid and unsafe riders are much more likely than 'normal' riders to choose illegal e-bikes, so there is a strong correlation.

Also, I have been wondering (while off the bike with a knee injury) how the rules apply to hand operated cycles?

Ooops! Water in battery case, won't charge.

Shame we don't see many reviews of BMSs. It would be good to know if they had a hint of blackberry aroma, or just a touch of burnt rosemary to the nose.

    Battery comparison

To a first level of approximation the range will depend vary linearly with the Wh, and two systems with the same Wh battery will give similar range. The G4 is probably a bit more efficient, partly because of the higher voltage as saneagle pointed out, and possibly the G4 motor has a newer and...

    Mountain bike brake pads

The replacement pads usually come with replacement pins. One advantage of this design is you can replace the pads and don't need to re-align the brake, just adjust the pull. It isn't just Clarkes that come in this format.

Help! Bike for semi-specialised use - purchase advice

At least it will be (relatively) cheap to replace the derailleurs and other bits of the transmission as necessary.
