    E-bike won’t go over 20mph

Due to odd quirks in the way speed limits apply, probably not illegal to exceed 20mph even in a 20mph zone ;assuming the bike is in every way legal as a pedelec.

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

As cadence says, not silly. When we first got ours (Woosh XF07 kit) I was very confused because it seemed completely random whether or not the '25' came up when I switched on. plus I'd assumed that it was indicating the km speed setting. Ours is a little different than cadence's; if you power...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

The 25 error is from a startup self-check that everything is working. Once it has seen the 'lever not pressed' state it is happy and won't give the error any more whether the lever is or isn't pressed. But with the lever pressed it should cut off the motor without comment on the display.

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

I applied sensors designed for hydraulic brake to a combined brake, gear lever. As a quick test measure I used electrical tape to secure the magnet so I could easily move it to get it set right. That's worked fine for just under 6 years, so I've left it that way. The sensor was fitted using...

Bosch out of steam with range left

Yes, thanks. Certainly the battery meter on the display doesn't show any sign of 'sag' under load, so there may well be some converter keeping it more level, but unable to work complete magic. I've been considering a newer battery before they start becoming an even more expensive 'vintage'...

Bosch out of steam with range left

Slight surprise the other day. We've had our 2016 Motus (Bosch) for well over 5 years, it was about 2 when we got it so 7 now. Very happy apart from a few niggles. In all that time we hadn't let it run down to where the remaining range was being reported below about 5 miles. I'd guessed that...

    Greeting

It shouldn't be getting harder to do the hill if you are only 35; once you've built up your fitness (which you must have done) it should stay pretty good for some time. (Very many on this forum passed double 35 some time ago). I can see you might want an ebike to tacklethe hill faster. As...

    Cube Reaction hardwork

That doesn't sound right. One advantage of the torque sensor Bosch (and other) bikes is that the motor should take up immediately you push on the pedal. What it might not do is give assistance at cruising speed with no input from her, a basic speed or current based sensor on a more basic bike...

Well done. Do you know the final weight? I hope it's OK for you to get in in the boot.

    Need new battery

The charge left is found from the voltage, and the assist modes controlled by the controller, so these don't need extra wires to the battery.

Suntour Nex are great, getting more expensive than they used to be, around £80. There are really expensive ones for over £200, I've never tried one. I've had the more basic concentric tube kinds (I forget the proper name) like Zoom for around £20, they help but aren't nearly as smooth as the...

    Are Ventura chains any good?

I see jejames (and others) advertise a chain as kmc-ventura --- looks as if it's just confusing branding. https://www.jejamescycles.com/product/2172973/kmc-kmc-ventura-116l-7spd-chain/option/

    Help! Alternative battery mounting options?

Sorry to deviate from the thread, but I can't resist. 8 years ago it was unknown what Trump would be like as a president, and it was scary. Now it is no longer unknown, but even scarier.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

You've given several posts pointing out reasons that show how terrible Trump is and what a disaster it would be if he became president again. I agree with them. However, you seem to assume that these reasons will prevent enough people voting for him. I hope you are right, but I'm not at all...

Motor for 130 mm rear drop outs

The terminology is certainly confusing if 135mm motor IS for 130mm drop-outs. Post 7 (https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/motor-for-130-mm-rear-drop-outs.46586/#post-700689) suggests O.P. can get away with 135 on his 131 titanium hub; that is great, and makes most of the thread after post 7...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

No. But any of those comfort items can also be built into any IC car as long as you accept the limitation of being in reach of external power. I agree an EV has enough battery to take advantage of the features even when not plugged in; but, as you said, for the commonest situation where you do...
