    Argos Cheap Ebike £360

The OP @egroover simply posted a link about a cheap e-bike at Argos. He bought one 4 weeks ago and that bike has long since been sold out. Weeks after, I spotted and posted about a different cheap Argos e-bike that may be suitable for others. I don't see where your problem with that is.

Advice to a newcomer on what bike to buy

I had a WTF moment and went to buy one... they had them 2 days ago when I checked, but they're now out of stock. No surprise really.

Why not now? So many enjoy "van life", albeit many by necessity rather than choice - Bristol particularly is noted for it.

    Argos Cheap Ebike £360

Nobody suggested this particular bike would be a good choice for you, just that it could be a good choice for some. That's the point, which clearly you're missing.

Again, that's just you being blinkered by your own preferences and circumstance. Plenty of others here aren't you.

Great plan... I have 2 x 12v @ 280Ah LiFeP04 batteries (£900) fed from 620W solar (£320) feeding this Aferiy 2400w/2048Wh battery in my house - so 11kw in total... and a 5kw diesel heater heating my home, being fed from the 12v 25A outlet on the Aferiy Power Station. It runs my fridge and...

    Argos Cheap Ebike £360

I agree. But it's irrelevant now anyway because it's now out of stock. At least some recognised a bargain when they saw it...

IIRC @saneagle was punting the benefits of the VTOMAN power stations. I use a similar one for my "day van" recharging my e-bike batteries when away for the weekend. This one is 2048Wh: It powers my in-van fridge, microwave and Tassimo coffee machine too. RRP is £1400, usually sells for £1000. At...

    Argos Cheap Ebike £360

Well, that's just you. I have 3 e-bikes and none use Hailong batteries. Anybody looking for a stealth in-city commuter where with the in-frame battery doesn't make the bike look like a magnet for mugging or theft and 18 miles is enough, this is a brilliant buy. @saneagle even suggested this for...

    Argos Cheap Ebike £360

Another Argos entry level bike that's similar - £380. 18" frame on 28" wheels, hybrid style, 7-speed gearing and 3-speed controller. It's a little less weight at 19.5kg. It doesn't say what size the in-frame battery is, but they claim a similar 18 miles and they do say Samsung cells so it can't...

    Tranzx Logix error codes

Update the bike software, re-run the diagnostics report, post the PDF here. The battery may be recoverable. AFAIR, it's a closed cadence sensor that craps out because it fills with debris and rainwater thrown up from the front wheel. Contact cleaner and reseating all the plugs might help.

Is it me or the bike..?!

It's a Cube Hybrid 500 - so it's a Bosch mid-motor - so it is torque sensored. (EDIT: Oops, sorry, you're talking to LB not the OP.) Isn't there an App for fiddling with the power bands in each level now, or is that just certain Bosch mid-motors? A number of (newer) mid-drive bikes allow the...

Help! Bafang bike looking for Besst tool in Oxford area

Ebco in Warwickshire are one of the few e-bike makers using the latest range of Bafang mid-motors in their current factory-built models. Any of their dealers (there's one in Bicester) should have the software: Store Locator - EBCO (ebco-ebikes.co.uk) There's also a link on their support page to...

Raleigh Stow E Way Tranzx problems

Good news both bikes now working. Install an OLD version of Acrobat Reader from a CD Rom or off an old laptop. It's only used to read/display the service documentation, but the diagnostic software won't run without it. Once you've done that, the Diagnostics will connect to TranzX's database...

Raleigh Stow E Way Tranzx problems

Is the bike running? The controller initiates a boot-up cycle that takes a few seconds when you switch it on, checking all the bits are there and functioning. It may be that since you changed the display/controller it doesn't match the software version logged in the controller... normally after...

Raleigh Stow E Way Tranzx problems

Eh? When did Raleigh go bust? The Raleigh website is still up, and the Stow-e-way still advertised and being sold. All the electrics are made by TranzX (nothing to do with Raleigh) and have (had) a two-year warranty from new. All those used on your bike are still made by TranzX (J D...

Looking for a folding bike good for hills.

That Argos folder being all-steel weighs a ton (25kg?), and likely wouldn't pull the skin off a custard... never mind a 6ft bloke up hills. There's always been issues here on the forum with the Argos/e-plus range with unavailability of (especially) the electrical parts even when new and still...

Newbie from South Wales with a repair query.

Are you sure it's a Phylion battery? That shape isn't listed in Phylion's own catalogue - although the battery used on Carreras up until 2018 still is. Phylion eBike Battery Catalogue-2023V2

Newbie from South Wales with a repair query.

Something doesn't stack up here... IIRC, that battery was used up to 2018 models, with the controller potted (sealed) into the battery dock and had Suntour components throughout (i.e. display). From 2018/2019, the battery maker changed (not Phylion), as did the location of the controller to a...

A new Tranzx 15 motor for the Stow-e-way is typically £200+duties (i.e. not £500). Thank goodness you don't need one.
