    Standard 3pin ebike chargers?

Yes, unfortunately. You have to think about safety, liability and security.

    Standard 3pin ebike chargers?

Yes, really good idea. I have a lamppost on my driveway, so I could run an extension lead into my house and reduce my electricity bill. When you stay at a campsite, boatyard, marina or anything like that, there are electric points all over the place. Nearly always, they don't work because...

    "ebike battery fire"

Have you planned what you'e going to do if you see an asteroid streaking towards the Earth, or if the Covid virus mutates into a deadly highly infectious version? Those things are probably more likely than your ebike catching fire unless you have a home-made battery or battery jumping about in a...

Lipos are not OEM ebike batteries. Please don't scaremonger with irrelevant stuff.

    "ebike battery fire"

Ebike battery fires are very rare and virtually non-existent for OEM batteries, so you have nothing to worry about at all. There's probably more chance of your phone catching fire. The reason they recommend a new battery is because the performance drops off after a lot of use, not because of...

    Fiido D11 Folding e-bike - A sort of review

The first mini Xiongdas had noticeable drag when spinning the wheel by hand, but not so noticeable when riding on a bike with 700c wheels. The review in the video above made a point about the drag in that bike. IIRC, Xiongda did something to improve it on the second version, but, like the mk1...

    "ebike battery fire"

We've discussed that one before. Two batteries joined by loads of wires bouncing about in a bag is a recipe for disaster, never mind the build quality of the batteries themselves.

    Fiido D11 Folding e-bike - A sort of review

What about the drag from the motor? I can imagine that it would be a lot more noticeable with small wheels. How is yours when freewheeing on a flat road?

    Looking for a Road/Gravel eBike with/without Throttle

You have to weigh up a few factors with those Halfords ebikes, which have the Suntour electrics, like that Carrera Crossroads. The price is good and they're lovely bikes when they're going, but sadyly, that's often not too long, depending on how and where you ride them. The torque sensor...

    Hey all

http://www.topbikekit.com/t06p-24v36v250w-torque-simulation-square-wave-brushless-controller-for-ebike-p-835.html You have to order an LCD to go with it. Why not use the speed sensor in the motor? If there's any suspicion about tye sensor, you have to order an external one.

    Gear and chain problems.

Use plenty of gear oil (hypoid 90) on the chain, gears and derailleur, then pour some into the freewheel/cassette along the axle. When everything is lubricated and moving freely, your bike will be much better all-round.

What do you use for cell welding?

I have a Sunko 788+, which I've used for loads of batteries. The electrode arrangement is a bit wafty. I had to put n insulator between them, and I file my own electrodes out of 3mm copper. The electrodes get hot after a few welds, which you'd expect when welding current goes through thin...

    Voilamart 36V / 500W Front Hub Issues

Often these sort of kits use standard parts but wire them in weird ways. Without seeing the original Voilamart connections before you changed them. It's impossible to ssay what to do.

    Hey all

It's a sensorless motor, so you can use any 36v controller for sensorless motors. The three thick pins are the phase connections and the three thin ones are for a sensor - Probably a speed sensor. If your controller is shagged, you can cut the motor wire off and solder it to your new...

Help! Novice fitting Bafang BBS02B 48V 750W to Trek Hybrid

1.Stick with 48v for cheaper batteries that are more widely available and give fewer problems. 2. If you're a big bloke, a smaller chain ring will be better. 3. No. You should always dismantle and check before ordering to avoid wasting your money.

    Help please battery

I don't know how you guys manage it You take photos that never show what we need to advise you. Please take photos of the whole cell-pack and inside of the case. You should be able to get a replacement for about £150.

this is really a big problem. The electric motor touches the brake. Please advise.

You're making the problem much bigger than it is. A 160mm disc will have it's outer edge 10mm further out, so you need to lift the caliper about 12mm from it's present position. The simplest and cheapest solution is to buy a packed of M6 washers and put a load of them between the caliper and the...
