    How to carry a 2nd / extra battery ...

Good post. Is that battery fire you mentioned on YouTube? Can you post a link for it if its on there please? I like this one from Holland I believe, and you can see a new battery on the down tube, and the original one on the rack, which appears to have been pulled back from the socket before the...

Lithium vs. Lead Acid: Debunking the Top 3 Lithium Battery Myths

I agree that several areas of reference are better than one, but remember, one is still better than none! Further similar articles, which would be really great to have, hopefully sooner rather than later..... So if anyone finds such articles, please post links so that we all have a chance to...

    How to carry a 2nd / extra battery ...

You obviously understand the pitfalls of such an arrangement very well. Really very well done. I myself, with extensive electrical knowledge gained over almost 50 years, would have bought a special two channel BMS to handle the two batteries, coward that I am!!! But I also like having the...

Sick of dirty chain, anyone using dip waxed chains?

I am surprised that the old fashioned method of keeping a chain (relatively) clean, were those metal covers on bike chains of the 1950's and earlier. See here:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gear_case You would think that something sturdier and lighter than those, covering most if not all of...

e-Bike on a bike rack. With or without the battery?

Definitely the best decision. I wish you a lot of biking fun in the future. regards Andy

Lithium vs. Lead Acid: Debunking the Top 3 Lithium Battery Myths

I am happy that at least one other person found it interesting, as Relion should know far better than any of us here.....they make such batteries! Stay safe and healthy. regards Andy

e-Bike on a bike rack. With or without the battery?

Here, where I live (Germany), all towbars have either a sticker, or its pressed into the metal part, the maximum allowed "Nose-weight" in Kilograms. Here they are also a bit strange with regard to any form of electric car!!! You are not alone!!! I myself have not lived in the UK for over 40...

Lithium vs. Lead Acid: Debunking the Top 3 Lithium Battery Myths

I was recently sent this link, with the above title, which I find both informative and useful for our hobby. If you yourself are interested in further reading, this is the link:-...

e-Bike on a bike rack. With or without the battery?

Make sure that the carrier is more than just able to carry all the weight..... Though some e-bikes have battery carriers/holders that still "seal" with or without the battery being installed, and are very easy to open/close and remove the battery. Even some quite cheap bikes do this..... I am...

Would wiring three 5W LED lights to the 6V wire on the BBS01b be too much for the controller?

Come back to us (all!), if any further clarification is needed, as an explanation will be cheaper than an error! :) Andy

Would wiring three 5W LED lights to the 6V wire on the BBS01b be too much for the controller?

I forgot to mention, if the details that came with the lights speaks of 6 volts, then plan for that voltage. It is IMHO highly unlikely that lights for 6 volts will be fitted with any form of DC to DC converter.....or the documentation would have mentioned it! regards Andy

Would wiring three 5W LED lights to the 6V wire on the BBS01b be too much for the controller?

This depends on the wattage/Current draw of the light. Just for example:- if it draws 1 amp at the correct voltage, then a 2 amp "Quick blo" or "Normal-Blo" fuse would be about right for normal usage. This is just an example, I have no idea how much current your light draws.......But a fuse of...

Would wiring three 5W LED lights to the 6V wire on the BBS01b be too much for the controller?

I believe I answered that above for you. But unless you KNOW that some form of DC to DC converter is reducing the voltage to that required by the bike light, my answer is NOT TO TRY IT! In a bad case scenario, you might even start a small fire in your wiring! Also, I forgot to mention, a...

Would wiring three 5W LED lights to the 6V wire on the BBS01b be too much for the controller?

It depends upon the design of the lights. Some of them already have some form of DC to DC converter built in. Which is often on cheaper lights, is simply a "dropper" resistor with a reasonable wattage to handle the LED light current. These do "waste" a tiny bit of current (your bike battery at...

Would wiring three 5W LED lights to the 6V wire on the BBS01b be too much for the controller?

Transformers are designed for AC, generally speaking. E-bikes are DC. You need a DC to DC converter if no provision has otherwise been made on your bike for low voltage lighting. Many lights for e-bikes are designed & made to accept higher voltages, as someone has already mentioned here...

E10 error on my new ebike

I wasn't judging you in any way, but difficult to tell online of course! 99.99% of Pedelecers are not judgemental, except for a very tiny number of "Trolls", they are all generally both helpful and friendly. I was only sorry that you have lost (as in this case) a piece of very useful...
