    Hub Motor and Wheel Size/Diameter

You are not understanding how this all works. Your explanation is only 50% correct! What would be the point of a controller needing a wheel diameter as a parameter, but not changing the rpm? Answer, no point at all. It is so the RPM can be increased to give the correct legal road speed, with...

    Hub Motor and Wheel Size/Diameter

I am MOST happy if I have put you off DIY, as we get regularly people with bad self made problems and they are difficult to assist, because they don't know the "lingo", and we cannot see the fault(s). Having been on Pedelec for some times, such heart rending "plights" have put me completely off...

    Hub Motor and Wheel Size/Diameter

Of the few controllers I have had, all were capable of being programmed for wheel size, though I would guess some are not of course! So it would be important to find that out before purchase. Surely any controller sold say on ebay, should have this facility.... Plus, buying such a wheel and a...

    Hub Motor and Wheel Size/Diameter

It should be fine as most controllers (be careful what you buy) can be adjusted for wheel size, just so they remain legal speed wise, while being ridden. Are you good as a DIYer and part time electrician, you need both these skills if you are doing the work yourself. Not forgetting a reasonable...

    Help! Drive problem

Thoughts are with maybe wire breaks with the Hall effect sensors (assuming you have them of course!), or wiring problems with the PAS sensor, assuming you have one of these too! best of luck Andy

    Chain jumping on smallest cog

We are all here to help each other as best we can. You would do the same on a problem that you better understand, but still thanks for your replay. When you get it fixed, let us all know what it was please. regards Andy

    Chain jumping on smallest cog

Maybe the tension on the chain is slightly too little. The smallest cog always has the least tension as the arm swings/tensions. Try increasing it slightly. A slightly overlong chain can make a similar problem. If the bike is new, you should be getting it done on the guarantee anyway...

    Tektro hydraulic disc brake mystery

I cannot see that either, as you pointed out, air is compressible and causes sponginess, but it's easy to check. regards Andy

    Tektro hydraulic disc brake mystery

Maybe a mechanical part of the brake lever is out of adjustment, or may need cleaning and re-lubrication. Just a thought. Andy

    Lost keys

One does need to:- a) fully understand the configuration of the internals which takes some time for a "newbie" and b) have fingers that are sensitive enough to "feel", c)to notice which pin "hangs" first, and all the subsequent "hangs" of all the other pins. Often only 3 or 4 pins on small cheap...

    Lost keys

Mostly keys for devices come in twos. Which means that one is for daily use and the other in your "Safe place", properly labelled. Obviously something went wrong with the "system". Does the cylinder have a number stamped on it where the key goes? This may be enough to get a new key. If it was...

Brand new Pendleton Battery won't charge.

Have you managed to actually measure the voltage of the battery with a reliable/accurate Volt or Multi meter? Please post the results here as it may assist others to assist you! That is the first thing that I would do..... A 36 volt nominal bike battery should be above 30 volts and below or at...

    Battery mounting bracket

May I ask, in a friendly manner, what are the reasons you have been given for not mounting your battery "upside down"? That nobody can read any lettering on it when it is upside down. I understood that most battery chemicals are not liquid, but even if they are, some still don't object to being...

Lithium-ion blaze aboard ship - specialist crews en route

You are obviously one of the Li-ion "Poo Pooers" I mentioned earlier..... Furthermore, before commenting in an unfriendly manner on my "supplied" statistics negatively, perhaps you would like to find and add some statistics supporting your thoughts and dreams here? Otherwise you come over as...

Lithium-ion blaze aboard ship - specialist crews en route

It really does not matter how or what started the fire (as some here appear to think), once certain types of batteries have "joined" the blaze, the results are fixed in stone. Although I ride a Li-Ion powered e-bike, and I assume that if the battery catches fire, I can jump off, is still...
