    battery mat help

Why not simply make an extension power lead, so that you do not have to remove the rubber mat for each and every charge? Whatever you do otherwise, will get worn and damaged eventually..... regards Andy

    Tarred with the same brush

While watching the BBC TV News yesterday, an e-scooter was shown and it appears to have been registered as a Moped (small plate). So insurance, tax and correct apparel comes to mind. I could not even say that it was 100% in the UK either, but I think it was. Has anyone else seen such scooters...

    Estarli E20 Pro

Welcome to Pedelec. Are you sure that you want to exceed the legal limit? It could get you immediately "noted", and then expensive, and get your bike taken away from you in an extreme case... On those small wheels? I hope that you have also invested in full leathers and a motorcycle crash...

What is the best conditioner for leather jackets?

I used to have horses over 40 years ago, in the UK, so I just used saddle soap for cleaning and lubrication, no Gerbils..... But I haven't owned a leather jacket for a great many years, so I am sure that there are better and newer products, so talk to a horse rider near you! regards Andy

    Disc brake issues

Nobody knows exactly what went wrong, as the guy is a complete moron, and in spite of his "wished for" IQ, he has only worked 10 years in the last 35. Some years ago he retrained as a bus driver, and managed to have 3 accidents in less than 3 weeks, all with parked cars! They let him go as he...

    Power loss

Null Problemo, as Alf always said on German Childrens TV, many years ago! I still think that your battery has some bad cells. Was it stored where frost could get at it? Most e-bike users, when storing a battery, store it where its cool, but not ever under 4°C. They also store it at a middle...

    Power loss

Assuming its a 36 volt battery, that is too low at fully charged, no load. I would guess that last winter it was not charged for a long period, and many cells are now damaged. A 36 volt battery in top form, with a good charger, would show 42.0 volts, or very close to that, usually above 41...

    Disc brake issues

You have explained the problems succinctly, because when I tried Hydraulic brakes, I did not have a clue as to the number of pistons they had......I was simply comparing them in my head to my mechanical disk brakes. Thanks for the explanation. Andy PS One local colleague, who changed to...

    Disc brake issues

You could be right, but the few times I have ridden a bike with hydraulic Disks, I did not notice any noticeable in applicational differences to good mechanical disk brakes using cables. And I was hoping to notice something better.....and was already planning to change mine, once I had decided...

    World's most comfortable saddle

The price also ridiculaous!! It would be a target for thieves as well IMHOO.... But if you are broad in the beam, it may be great! (By the way, I am not "broad in the beam!" The complete opposite in fact!) Regards to all Andy

    Brake sensors

I agree fully with your comments. :) :) :) :) :) If the motor does a reasonable job of moving the bike well, nobody needs the extra distance taken when stopping the bike, because the motor is still pushing, which could possibly save a life, even if its only a meter or less! And it cannot do...

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

Depending upon the materials used in the frame, a clever person may design a way to completely replace that area of the frame, for a part that will acceppt a different make/model of mid motor. Or they may make a standard bottom end so that a hub motor may be used. The fine details will be a...

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

Thanks. Such a chain, if used by someone like yourself on a mid motor e-bike, would probably not survive the 500 miles! Andy

    Disc brake issues

I see where you are going, but I take umbrage with the word "cheap", especially where disk brakes are concerned! Cheap is NOT synominous with bad or poor quality, it just means they cost less. I ride a cheap bike with (I am fairly sure) cheap disk brakes. But if they arrested my bike any faster...

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

th That seems to be a very short chain life for (and I am assuming!) even a mid motor e-bike....... About once a year, I borrow from an old friend of mine, a chain measuring device (I have not a clue what they are called), that tells me if the chain has become/becoming stretched....as that...

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

Great post, and a possible way to go for mid motor bikes. Hubs don't need anything heavier as the load is generally far less on a chain with a hub (either), and it can "survive" many years of constant usage, with minimum maintenance. Many forget that if you compare the same rider, on the same...
