    Wisper Tailwind

Understood. Perhaps content yourself with the fact that our original EAPC assist limit fifty years ago was 12 mph, so at 15.5 mph now you're riding 29% faster. Progress! :) .

    Wisper Tailwind

There's no legal way, 15.5 mph is the assist limit, with the statutory 10% tolerance allowing 17 mph, but Wisper only make legally compliant pedelecs. A higher assist speed would mean a modified or different controller and/or a higher voltage battery, but with a hub motor pedelec like yours...

    Pedal powered family transport?

There has been the odd tag-along tandem at times, for two different size kids, the last one without pedals. Another variant tag-along has an additional front carry-only seat for a toddler, mounted on the linking tube just over any rear carrier position. .

    Pedal powered family transport?

Agreed, or even save the £6k for running your existing car! Your problem is needing to carry two or more, for just one a tag-along add on half bike attached to any e-bike is ideal and gets the passenger helping too. LINK .

    Pedal powered family transport?

The Maxpro machines that Saneagle recommended are your best bet here and they do make a version with passenger weather protection, shown below. Electric assist versions of pedicabs are far from cheap though, a Maxpro typically from £6000.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Agreed, the national grid will need urgent attention, but I think it will get that. We've got so much wind generation at times now that we are actually earning from Europe on odd occasions. I'm sure that's why they intend the further big increase. I don't think SMRs will get a look-in, with...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Probably, though not all need any replacement. I'm guessing that some of the environmental laws would clash with their just announced, overriding intention to further greatly increase our wind turbine fleet. Gaps in the regulations can be very handy at times. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Hopefully not, at least she has faced down the ERG. 600 EU laws removed is better than the 4000 they wanted. Especially since they are mostly environmental laws this government would ignore anyway, in customary fashion. We are going to see a lot more of these rows, as the underlying civil...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Trans Pennine Rail nationalised by end of month They now join Northern Rail (LNER) in being Tory government owned and run, plus Eastern Rail and Southern Rail both being run by the government. Scottish and Welsh Rail are also already in government hands. At this rate Labour's long held...

    LifePo4 ebike full build

Even better was this offer in August 2017 as they were trying to clear stock: "Kudos Safari super deal, buy two bikes for £995.00 including delivery to UK mainland addresses." Stunning value for such extremely well equipped 36 volt pedelecs. I'm not sure they are still operating though...

    Hall sensor connection

No, that is just nominal. Many still use the old conventionof saying 24 volts, despite lithium ones being 26 volts now. .

    Hall sensor connection

Labelling is correct, your bike and battery are 26 volt, 7 x 3.7v cells in series giving 25.9 volts nominal. The mentions of 24 volt are just sticking to the old nominal voltage when we used NiMh batteries But do KT make any 24/26 volt controllers? Only 36 volt upwards as far as I know, so...

    Stuck pedals/freewheel

Despite the space at the rear looking ok, it does sometimes happen that the motor boss projection is slightly larger diameter than the freewheel inner so locks against the freewheel outer. If so, a shim that is less than the diameter of the freewheel outer will do the trick. I've had exactly...

    Old Panasonic Kalkhoffs

The Panasonic motored Agattu was first released here near the end of 2007, November I believe, with the ProConnect hard on its heels in 2008. I don't know when the S version was first released here but it was probably during 2009. .

How to convert a bicycle to an E-bike?

I'm afraid so. £500 to £700 range is realistic for a good quality moderately priced conversion kit from a trustworthy supplier. .

    Electric Cargo Bikes

Often not even then though. As Cyclebuddy says, the number of deliveries can far exceed these light vehicles. With a depot in this London Borough of Croydon, the DPD daily round on the two side by side Croydon estates where I live is served by a long wheelbase high roof van typically carrying...

Will street parties slow down my ebike?

Not the slightest sign in my very large London Borough of Croydon or in the adjacent North Surrey Borough of Tandridge that I've travelled through. Although nearly half the public when polled say they support our royalty, I think that is similar to the way they claim to be christian though they...

    LifePo4 ebike full build

Dave Elderfield, MD of very successful motor sport company Rally Design, had a brave try when he set up pedelec company Kudos Cycles in the 2000s, equipping a selection of his pedelec range with LiFePO4 batteries, giving consumers the choice in affordable pedelecs. But the consumer market...
