    Small men's crossbar hybrid recommendations

There are not that many small electric bikes in that price range because the lower profits on the cheap ones don't allow them to have lots of different versions in stock. Halfords do the Carrera Subway down to 14" frame, though there aaahave been reliability issues with that electrical system...

I'm new here and new to pedelecs.

There are a lot of perfectly adequate new ebikes on Ebay for between £600 and £1000. If you see one you like, post details so that we can tell you the good and bad points. Also E-bikesdirect,co.uk have a wide selection, and they offer good support after you purchase. Woosh are active on the...

    batteries

All cells have the same voltage and run from 3.1v to 4.2v (average 3.6v), so to get a 48v battery, you put 13 in series, 10 for a 36v one. Each cell type has different other characteristics -mainly the amount of charge in them, expressed in Ah or Wh, and the rate at which they can give it...

Help! Hi all, just bought a 'broken' ebike. Some help needed. Falcoln Turbine.

Check that the switch is actually switching, then pull all the multi-pin connectors from the BMS and plug them back in.

    Ordering from topbikekit

Send them an e-mail and tell them you live in the UK and we don't need any of that. Suggest to them to change it because it's causing them to lose UK customers. Somebody else had that, messaged them, and they dropped it for him.

    Twinned friction drives?

No, the motors will find their own speed.

[UK]Issues with BH easy motion 29ER neo, need help/advice!

Do these test in sequence. Don't skip. The one that fails will indicate the source of your problem. 1. Measure the voltage at controller's battery connector. Obviously should be battery voltage. 36v - 42v for a 36v battery would be an acceptable range. 2. Measure the voltage on the 5v rail. You...

Help! Hi all, just bought a 'broken' ebike. Some help needed. Falcoln Turbine.

The BMS is probably switched off for a reason, like a low cell. I'd be surprised if changing it fixes anything. You need to measure the exact individual cell voltages.

    Adding Throttle To E-Plus Bike??

Probably, but you'll probably need to change the controller. You have to show us what you've got.

    Twinned friction drives?

If they're 3-phase, you need two controllers.

    ERider moped Help

Run the battery on a fixed load of say 10 amps and measure how many hours it runs for. Amp-hours (Ah) = amps x hours. If it goes for 3 hours, 3 x10 =30Ah. If it only goes for 2 1/2 hours, that's 2.5 x 10 = 25Ah. In practice, the battery is made of cells, that are tested like above, then they...

Help please Bafang BBS01 shorted out I think

You'll need a new controller. If you short the data wires to the battery one, you'll wipe out the cpu in the controller. Even if you had disconnected the battery, it would probably have done the same. After disconnection, you have to short the battery wires to discharge the capacitors in the...

That LiitoKala battery, first use (maybe a thread to keep logging range)

The only significant factor that affects range is how hard you pedal. Your controller uses speed control, so you get max power at start up, but level 1 has a max speed of something like 8 mph. Any time you're pedalling over 8 mph, you get no assistance. By turning down the PAS level, you're...

That LiitoKala battery, first use (maybe a thread to keep logging range)

A 36v KT controller allows around 60w on level 1 and 600w from the battery on level 5, so ten times the difference. It's proportionally more power for a 48v one because of the higher voltage. When I ride my electric MTB on level 1, I ride at the same speed and effort as my road bike except on...

Any BBS02 owners on here? What max amps you running?

It's not what power you use, but how you use it. If you pedal too slowly, your motor will burn with 10 amps. The higher your voltage, the faster you need to pedal to keep the motor cool. I would say that 52v and 25A is dodgy. Even the BBSHD can blow mosfets at 52v and 25A, and it's a bigger and...

    Cycling. Health. Covid. Diet.

I look at data, see where it came from, think about whether it's plausible, think about all the mechanisms behind it, then try and make sense of what's going on. That's the same technique for ebikes as I use for medical matters, social matters and anything else. It's called pragmatism. BTW, my...

That LiitoKala battery, first use (maybe a thread to keep logging range)

This is the problem where posts like this can start to become misleading when people take things at face value instead of understanding what's going on. A normal rider using a meaningful amount of assistance takes about 12 to 15 wh per mile. You can get any range from any battery by adjusting...

    Brake sensor constantly on

You've got the magnet in the wrong position. Check what happens to the switch when you bring the magnet to it. Does it go on or off? Whatever it is, you have to arrange the magnet so that the switch goes on when you operate the brake., which might mean that the magnet has to come to the sensor...
