    Battery charging 101

No rush! On the bright side, you have a tried and tested motor, so there will be an answer! Edit: Have a look at the label on the charger. Often they are only 2A, so expect 8 hours or so for a full charge from flat on your 15Ah battery.

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

I've had no issues with my GoPro Hero 10 Blacks, but I use 1080p24 in UK temperatures and Sandisk Extreme Pro micro-sd cards. Dji sound like the up and coming leading edge, worth a look.

    Battery charging 101

Generic battery capacity indicators on the display are not 'calorie counters', like you get on Shimano/Bosch etc, but basically voltmeter and so non-linear. Very basic. If your battery was fully charged, then all is not well, but given your earlier question I would recharge fully and ride again...

    Gazelle Bloom C380 HMS

Your C7 has the same motor as my 14,000km Ridgeback X2. Should last a while! If the chain case allows, hill climbing can be improved with a larger rear sprocket, and possibly (I haven't checked if splines are the same) a 34T instead of 38T front chain ring, as used on E7000, E8000 motors. Very...

Interested to know both the cure and whether it was dry inside!

    Dead tsdz2?? Help

Circumstantial evidence points to water, I would open it up and look, and plan how to prevent a repeat occurrence when it is fixed.

Connecting blue booth speaker to BBS,02 battery

You can get a power feed at whatever voltage you need, most likely 5V via a USB cable, using a DC-DC converter. This is a rather powerful one but it is potted in epoxy, so rugged and a bit weather protected...

Gallium arsenide instead of silicon lets you halve the area, but at the cost of a kidney!

    LEF ebike/microcar

Even now with domestic single tariff rates around 30 to 35p/kWh, I was expecting overnight off peak rates to be nearer 20p, and a large consumer to have an energy manager dedicated to getting value for money. I have no contacts of that kind to ask, so just supposition, but if the 70p is really...

70p per kWh for charging costs? Really?

BBS HD power cutting off and on

Rereading the thread, a bit of a long shot... It worked for a while after display and buttons replaced. That would have split and reconnected various connectors, and the disturbance might have temporarily cleared a poor contact fault. Worth exercising the same connectors again?

    Chrisrmas presents?

The results are in for the first one: 168/180 = 93%, so anyone who said 2% loss of capacity per year would be spot on. Good enough.

    Chrisrmas presents?

My new batteries arrived yesterday, much sooner than the January date I was expecting. In original Shimano packaging, with original shipping label to the company I bought them from, dated April 2019. So unused but 3.5 years on a shelf. Opened up, power button shows three out of five bars of...

    LEF ebike/microcar

What is far more achievable year round is an ultra low energy electric vehicle with a static solar charging array that can be adjusted for the sun angle season by season. But the disconnect between the generation and the vehicle makes it easy to lose sight of the original goal, which is a self...

    LEF ebike/microcar

That's a little optimistic for UK conditions. Expect 4kWh average per day from 1kWp of horizontal solar, so about 700 or 800Wp is the minimum requirement. That in silicon is about 4m2, which is about the footprint of a small hatchback, rather than a Twizy/Twingo. That will only do in the...

    Ebike battery

If there is any benefit to running to empty, it is only in calibration of whatever energy measuring hardware there might be. Which in a generic battery is none, and I think also none in a generic lcd, because they only go on voltage. Top of charge is where balancing is done. Bottom does nothing...
