    Swytch battery

Could be faulty, from the three battery bars behaviour, or toast from so many cycles. If you have an idea of when you needed to make each change to your charging regime, and convert those points into number of charges that would give a crude graph of fall off in performance. They claim 35km...

    Bike Stands

A few bits of timber, plywood gussets, half an hour with a Makita will build a base and upright to which a clamp of your choice can be fitted.

Probably better with either cheap i.e. 7 or 8 speed not fancy gears, or a hub gear and a 250W motor to keep loads down. Either way maintenance costs kept down and much nicer to ride.

    Solar trailer rides again!

...but mounted high so out of shadow. The previous example had the panels too close to the saddle and bars so won't get best solar yield. Shade one cell, lose most of the output. Too small for continuous riding, but plenty for modest daily mileage.

    Li-ion battery testing

The difference with phones etc is that almost all use a single cell, eliminating at a stroke all the issues that arise from balancing and degradation of individual cells and interconnections. So long as the charger output voltage is accurate it is hard for anything to go wrong.

    Lightest mid motor ebike kit

I don't like the rather small number of chainring teeth engaged in the chain. Problems await there.

    parts an prices from china

Germany is labelled 'very successful' and is doing better than the UK in simple numerical terms like GDP per capita. And their manufacturing sector is regarded as streets ahead. But the disparity is smaller than I expected to find when I went looking, admittedly not further than Wikipedia: GDP...

    parts an prices from china

Sixth largest economy but only 21st largest population. The world's physical workshop cannot thrive with those numbers. Stuff is made where people are cheaper. Unlikely to change.

Which of these two batteries for pack build?

Hard to see anything negative about the LG at the modest current the TSDZ2 requires, and it has greater capacity and lower price. For a direct drive hub motor the extra current rating of the Molicell would become important. It might boil down to what is in stock!

Fiido D2S vs Ado A16+ or something else?

No, I was just thinking that for such a short journey you might consider an existing bike plus the very small and light Swytch kit. Probably does not make sense unless you already have a suitable bike as even with discount still not cheap.

Fiido D2S vs Ado A16+ or something else?

I wouldn't compromise your day to day commuting requirements for occasional steep hills on holidays. Your short distances every day only need a tiny battery, so you can look to smallest, lightest for that. Leisure days out are a different ball game!

    Batteries from Nkon.nl anyone?

@Bikes4two your TSDZ2 page will come in handy! @WheezyRider a bit heavy for my liking, but the concept is good. I'd want a more aerodynamic shape than house brick! @guerney the solar roofed trike is an object of envy for sure! Not entirely discounted in my future plans! I'll share progress...

    27.5 bad for road use?

You might get 50% value after two years, especially if in good shape and a history of no problems and a dealer service and report, but more likely 33%. If you can live with that, and you'd have two years to forget how much value you'd lost (!) , then just buy and get riding! Spring is just...

    27.5 bad for road use?

With your budget you could consider what many people do, which is buy new and sell before 2 year warranty runs out, and then repeat. Most will be fine if treated reasonably.

Petition to legalizing throttle only eBikes for the disabled

Strictly speaking, the motor MUST overheat at the 30 minute mark, because otherwise it is capable of more than 250W for 30 min...and so not compliant with ENxxxxx. But from the consumer point of view, it must NOT overheat before 30 minutes, because otherwise the customer has been sold a...

    Batteries from Nkon.nl anyone?

Purely in the interests of experience, I've taken the plunge and ordered 14 cells plus related stuff for a 1P battery pack. This is intended as a small 'on bike' battery for my old mountain bike and my 48V TSDZ2 which has been in its box long enough. My daily commute is 5 hilly rough miles...

Taxi changes direction at traffic lights

There's a distinction between chosen I.e. voluntary shouting and swearing, and involuntary, uncontrollable reaction to unexpectedly severe stress. I have quite a few colourful outbursts, well outside my normal vocabulary, on my GoPro soundtracks! It's those situations where, having done...
