Suggestion that delivery companies should check their riders bikes are legal !!!!!!

That isn't even remotely true, the pedelec legislation aspects were and are created over time by a committee of all the interested and most knowledgeable parties. That is necessary in democracies like the UK and EU countries where the sort of dictatorship you suspect would not be acceptable...

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

I've told you why. You have interpreted that guide section you believe is funny as a choice. It isn't, there is no choice. I've further explained to BonzoBanana who also misinterpreted what that document is, so you may prefer that brief explanation on this link .

Suggestion that delivery companies should check their riders bikes are legal !!!!!!

How do you manage to be so hopelessly wrong? That document is not in any way about certification. What on earth makes you think it is? It is merely a guide, a simple explanation of that is involved if someone is thinking of getting a pedelec. It is excellent, clearly giving the basic...

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

Whilst your sentiment is on their accuracy is often true, that guideline is not for your action, since there is no law for self created pedelecs. Both kit suppliers and those who create self build pedelecs operate in a legal vacuum, trying to do their best to fit in with the law. That guide is...

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

You are quoting from a government guide document which you should never do, since extracts are invariably inaccurate. In this instance it indicates a choice, but there is none. Only the actual law is accurate and there is no choice, what should be on the plate is according to the pedelec's...

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

It's Britain only local law concession that so far only Wisper have taken advantage of: Getting legal permission to have a fully acting "Twist and Go" throttle on a pedelec: The Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval test now includes a sub-category for "Twist and go" electric bikes, which require...

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

And that person's opinion is stretching the law beyond truth. Here's the true position: The law is that only a manufactured EAPCs can be type approved to have a throttle. That is because individual machines cannot, they can only have Single Vehicle Approval, so, being individual are not a...

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

The police and councils are not necessarily wrong. Although I and and the DfT have said you are correct, that is only according to common current practice. It's strictly speaking not true in either British or EU law. Technically only those kit created machines certified as EAPCs qualify, as...

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

Correct, but unfortunately many of the Deliveroo and other fast food deliverers go further with excess wattage rating motors and or higher assist speeds. Not a problem in my London area, they all seem to riding registered i.c. mopeds with L plates where necessary, with not a pedelec in sight. .

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I'm electricity only and despite my warning EDF back in 2016 that a smart meter could not work here due to there being no mobile signal, they installed one anyway, insisting they could get it working. A little over three months later they wrote to me apologising that they'd been unable to, so...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

The position is far worse, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero are lying to hide the truth, in part by under reporting the total number of meters. Only 57.1% of the smart meters in this country are transmitting readings wirelessly. And it is going to get far worse. According to...

    UK 20mph speed limits

He was convicted for that charge because he made no effort to stop or avoid the pedestrian, expecting her to get out of his way, which is unlawful. He faced no charge for having no front brake so could not be imprisoned for that. To argue that he was makes no sense, since firstly the law...

    UK 20mph speed limits

He was NOT sentenced for the lack of a front brake as you wrongly said, since he faced no charge whatsover for the bike's illegality, so could not be sentenced for that. His "whole manner of driving" caused the accident as you quoted the judge saying, and caused the subsequent sole charge, and...

    Nexus twistgrip shifter question

I don't know, the OP's bike is a pedelec with a Bosch motor and belt drive Nexus hub gear, but that is all I've seen about it. Maybe the OP is pausing for the change as I would automatically do if I hadn't known of this new system, rather than continuing to pedal. .
