So whats the fork of choice then ?

A tapered steerer doesn't fit where a straight steerer does.

So whats the fork of choice then ?

I was constrained by the 'straight 1-1/8 steerer' malaise, so a secondhand Rockshox Reba 100mm awaits installation to replace my dustbin quality 63mm originals. The slightly changed head tube angle is still lower than many mountain bikes, so not expecting it to be a problem.

So your next task is to convert the manual bike to provide commuting resilience!

    BBS motor with Gates belt...

No, but... If you search images of eccentric bottom brackets there are various types, some of which accept a standard bottom bracket. If your target bike is like that, then there is a chance, however slim! Remember that BBS01 relies on clamping force onto the BB to hold it in place. That might...

Sorry to see you go. Thread hijacking perhaps requires a bit more attention.

48v left- what range left ?

The 'nominal battery voltage' is not too far off half charge, so half a battery left. The second half will last until the first time a hill drags voltage down to low voltage cutoff, so in flat country you might get another 30 miles, in hilly lands maybe only 15.

    Merky bike E9

At a glance it is not UK legal. Link states Bafang 620 is 1000W.

    Wisper Tubeless 806

The rim maker will know, otherwise about 5mm wider than inner rim width if my new rims are anything to go by: WTB i23, 23mm inner width, 28mm tape recommended.

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

On long, multiday trips, charging time is critical, so my gear is preorganised to get started asap. Most people won't need to go this far! A four way short extension lead with my two chargers plugged in one side, and two USB-c chargers the other for camera and phone, all leads tidy and secured...

Cafes and pubs are good for charging. Wetherspoons is a reliable backstop.

Help with my first conversion kit.

First time, buy a kit including everything except perhaps the battery. Someone else has checked the bits all work together, so you don't need to worry about that. First time, stay legal, then you'll know what a legal bike can do. It's 4 miles and flat! Don't overthink it!

Like building a house....you can have a good house, a low cost house and a quick house, but you can only have two of those three. If you want quick, good with excellent customer service and technical assistance, maybe pay the bit extra and talk to Woosh today. Disclaimer: I am not a Woosh...

Help with my first conversion kit.

For a four mile flat commute you really don't need to be looking beyond standard 250W hub motor kits. 750W is a moped, not legal under pedelec / EPAC / EN15194 rules. Pedelecs are bicycles in law, your motorbike licence makes no difference. Throttle (kit linked has throttle and a warning...

What do you think of my new bike?

If it stays black, is there a fork without shiny chrome to maintain the stealth theme?

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

No. Not enough help at low speeds, not a particularly strong hub motor, and your requirements include load lugging touring. Start with your needs, and put aside the relatively niche solutions (Fazua, ebikemotion) in favour of well established basic powerful simple generic equipment.

Help! Help with faulty bike - What can I do with it?

Is it still under warranty? Edit: ok, I reread and see 'in shed for years' so not. Use search on here for 'vengeance' and you might find useful info, otherwise wait and knowledgeable help should arrive.
