What about the Smart BMS thing you mentioned? Like you've said earlier Halford bikes all have it, whilst I bought the battery with a standard BMS. Does that not make a difference in the end? Thanks for all the help.

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes, the bike worked fine and Error 21 never showed up before. I had other errors that caused occasional cut-outs (happened maybe 4-5 times in 2 years time). A simple clean and cable check always did the trick. I haven't had one happen in recent months though...

Yeah I guess that is the issue... I checked the battery and it doesn't have a smart BMS sticker anywhere :/ Well I guess that taught me something and I learnt something today. I will have to contact the seller and see if I can ship it back to them for a refund. Wish me luck.
