Thanks everyone. In the end I decided to pursue the spot welding way, with a twist over an Arduino controlled spot welder, powered by a LiPo battery. Of course the whole project now is more interesting, even if less financially effective...but what the heck! :) I'll keep this post updated with...

Unfortunately my crappy controller has no indication of its amps rating. I'm attaching the picture I have of it, there's nothing else but those digits, that return nothing specific on the internet. Would you go for 20 or 30 amps BMS?
