I currently get about 10 miles from my Powabyke X-byke (I weigh about 14 stone). Are there any bikes which would do more than this on pure power?

The power started cutting out a couple of days ago. Then it went completely. Power to the throttle OK-all the lights are on-but no power to the motor.

Same is true of my motorbike (which you may still consider part of motor trade). I bought it from a dealer 60 miles away, all my warranty work is done at my local dealer. I'm not really arguing about the business pros and cons. I'm just keen to make sure consumers are fully aware of this.

Andy, Thanks. I am a little wiser now about how the sensors work, and how I might and might not be able to test them. I've just got new back, so I'll put this project on back burner for a while. If and when I find a solution, I'll post it in case it helps or interests anyone else.
