Thanks for the tip about draining the water. I hadn't figured out what the 6 screws were for as by trike has discs on the two wheels at the back. It also explains how the water got in as the screws were only finger tight! All being well I will not need to remove the motor. But still keen to...

Thanks for the speedy reply. I can hear water sloshing around inside, albeit a small quantity, so I feel it does need to be stripped. There are three wires into the motor.
