    Flyer C9 - first impressions

On the fast Flyer models they have gone one step further. The lever functions like an e-bike throttle, allowing speeds of up to 12,5mph without pedalling. But this only applies to Germany .

    Pro-Connect Tyre upgrade

For anyone considering upgrading the tyres I would recommend to check out the Schwalbe Marathon Supreme which are superior to the Marathon Plus imho. Pat

    15mph legal limit

I was just thinking, what would happen if I took a fast S-Flyer, which is perfectly legal in Germany (and therefore should be in all other EU countries), and would do a trip to the UK. Would I get trouble with local police? Would they confiscate the bike or even my driving licence? I agree...

    15mph legal limit

I am the most surprised that we can have it in Germany. Usually we have very strict rules and laws, with one exception: no speed limit on the Autobahn... As I wrote in my first impression, I was looking for an alternative means of transportation. The slow 15mph class was nice but not really...

    15mph legal limit

Actually the fast pedelec class in Germany has a motor assistance up to 28mph, I just checked again. (at least the bike from Flyer). I think if this class would be allowed everywhere and prices would go down a littlebit, more people would consider a pedelec a real alternative to cars. Patrick

    S-Flyer first impression

I am not sure how you could change the Panasonic system on the slower models to give the highest output at high cadence pedalling. I have ordered my S-Flyer, but have to wait around 6 - 7 weeks for delivery. The shop owner offered me to have the test bike from time to time until mine arrives...

    S-Flyer first impression

As flecc wrote, Flyer did some upgrading on the Panasonic system to make sure the motor and gearbox can cope with the higher speed/cadence. It is hard to describe, I guess you really have to try it yourself to feel the difference. After riding the fast version, the slow one wasn't an option...

    S-Flyer first impression

The german law is a littlebit confusing, regarding the fast pedelec class. You need the moped insurance (I think officially it is deemed as a slow motorcycle), a rear-view mirrow and some reflectors on each side. On the other side, you can legaly use all cycle tracks and don't need to wear a...

    S-Flyer first impression

Thanks for your reply, flecc. I guess I will go with one battery at the beginning and see how I get along. I can get the discounted second battery till February next year, which will probably make more sense. Too bad you can't ride these faster versions in the U.K. You are really missing out...

    Where Do You Live V2.0

I guess I am the second German. I live in 63456 Hanau, Germany, close to Frankfurt/Main. I have to wait another 6 weeks before I get my S-Flyer, but I think you can put me on the map, since the bike is ordered. Patrick

    S-Flyer first impression

Hi everyone, just recently I have decided to get rid of my car at the end of this month and have been looking for an alternative means of transportation. Since I am doing a lot of mountainbiking in my freetime, I started looking for a new bicycle and finally decided that a pedelec would be...
