I'm trying to get a new key to replace lost keys for a Carrera Crossfire, I spoke to Halfords who told me to go to the Abus website and order one, only problem is I don't know what type of key is it, and it's required information to order, can anyone help with type of key?

What's the serial number of the bike? Look on the steering head and under the bottom bracket if you don't know where it is?

Serial number is AA010 88973
The easiest and cheapest way to deal with it is to buy a set of jiggler keys from Amazon/Ebay/Aliexpress, which can nearly always unlock ebike batteries. Once you have it unlocked, remove the battery, dismantle the lock and remove the tumblers so that you can operate the lock with any key or a screwdriver, then you won't have to worry about losing keys again.

Or you can go to any good locksmith shop if they have a suitable blank they can make you a key from around 15 quid if you can get the mount off the bike look on u tube on how to do this

As above once the lock barrel is removed keys can be cut to suit the tumbler posiitons, I cut keys to any barrel once said barrel is in my hands.
A local locksmith's will do the job if you want the battery to be secured better.

The problem with just relying on a standard battery lock is the toerag thieves can defeat them in seconds .

I have been thinking about trying to make a better clamp that will go round a frame and need an angle grinder to get it off when I get time does any one know if these are available to buy ?

In the 15 years I've been on this forum, nobody has ever had their battery nicked. Loads of people have had their bikes nicked.

For battery barrel locks and the like seen on motorbikes and nearly all types of small barrel locks , they use a double sided key so if using jigglers one has to use a pair of jigglers to get the tumblers exactly right to open them.

All the ones I've dismantled and looked at only have one row of tumblers. The key is double sided, but the lock isn't. They're easy to open with jiggler keys. Pull the barrel out, all the tumblers tumble out, put the barrel back in again, problem solved. Nobody knows there are no tumblers in it, and who have you ever seen trying to pick an ebike battery lock to steel the battery or even try their own key on it? The only time people do that is when they've lost their key.
