Founded 50cycles electric bikes in 2003 with my brother Scott, when we launched 50cycles Electric Bikes, with the Honda Step Compo folding electric bike as our first product. This was quickly followed by the Panasonic WiLL bike, the first electric vehicle of any kind available in the UK to be powered by a Lithium ion battery pack.
A stint importing the eZee range of electric bikes followed until we revolutionised the UK electric bike market by offering high quality European made electric bikes with centre motors and long-range Lithium battery packs as standard. The Kalkhoff Agattu and Pro Connect were swiftly recognised as the best quality, most capable electric bikes available, winning awards, glowing reviews and thousands of enthusiastic owners.
Kalkhoff bikes are now established as the market-leading brand in Germany and across Europe, with the UK being one of their most important international markets. Their bikes use a variety of motor systems - the Xion hub as well as the Impulse and Bosch centre drives.
