If PAS works in back pedal mode then one simply needs to flip the mag disc face over , magnets as one likely knows have a N or S face .

PAS is also Hall effect. The pulses between 5v and Signal to activate movement as the magnet disc passes the Hall Sensor.

Yes , it has three wires so Hall effect. All generic ebike throttle work to this effect.
