Tongsheng TSDZ2 review and build tips.

Looks like a very neat conversion, glad to be of assistance and hope your enjoying the new lease of life that this kit brings to cycling. I would also highly recommend Woosh bikes for their excellent customer service.

    Handlebars

I fitted Surly Sunrise bars to my bike to give a more upright riding position. Not exactly Dutch parallel but with a 15 degree sweep angle they are a comfortable bar and come with shims to fit a range of stem sizes.

Thanks 76zedfour hopefully loads more will have a go, the only trouble may be getting hold of the kits, which seem to be in short supply. The build, video filming and editing were a great distraction during the lockdown. The bars are surly sunrise and do give a more upright riding position...

Where to buy TSDZ2 - and have i got the right items on my list.

To be honest I use the throttle so little I am thinking of removing it altogether.

    Advice Needed for Conversion Kit

You require sufficient clearance around the bottom bracket and chain stays or the motor casing will foul. I had to file away a small area of of the motor casing (1-2 mm In one of the locations where it is raised for the casing screw threads)for it to to fit flush against the frame. It’s possible...

    Advice Needed for Conversion Kit

I would agree with Gavin on the Tongsheng TSZDZ as a great kit. I too chose this kit for the torque controlled pedal assist and the natural feeling it provides. The reliability has yet to be proven as I’ve covered only a hundred or so miles. As stated by others, fitment is hit or miss depending...

Where to buy TSDZ2 - and have i got the right items on my list.

I found that I had to add four links to the chain to get the correct length, when using an 11-42 cassette with the standard TSDZ2 42 tooth chainring.

Tongsheng TSDZ2 review and build tips.

Thanks for this excellent resource which I referred to during my own build. I too chose a bike with an 11-42 cassette for my first Ebike project but in my case I do use all the gears. There are some trail sections I can ride up now that I can’t on my whyte carbon hardtail. I’m so impressed...

Where to buy TSDZ2 - and have i got the right items on my list.

I bought the 48V 12AH TSDZ2 kit with throttle from Woosh and fitted it to a 2020 Kona Mahuna MTB. I didn’t use The brake levers as the Kona has hydraulic brakes, this hasn’t caused any issues in normal use but I understand the concerns regarding a throttle malfunction. In my case the levers came...
