Dutch manufacturer, Bough Bikes, presented their electric wooden bike in New York, earlier this week.

New Yorkers were invited to test ride the bicycle in Grand Street as part of eco-conscious Dutch design event, GOED.

Described as ‘providing a direct connection with nature,’ oak for the bike’s frame is sourced from ‘environmentally-friendly’ managed forests in France.

The Dutch designer behind the bike, Piet Brandjes, of Bough Bikes, convinced one New York resident that being ‘moved by nature’ was the way forward: “This bike is absolutely amazing, it’s a revolution” said one of the test riders, Silvia Neri.
