Tern, Taiwanese producers of urban electric bikes, have teamed with Deliveroo to provide on-demand food deliveries.
The partnership say this will broaden Deliveroo’s customer base to include corporate events and larger gatherings, with the Tern GSD handling up to 180Kg of cargo.
“Deliveroo is delighted to be testing the GSD,” a Deliveroo spokesman said.
“E-bikes allow sustainable, low emission deliveries that are quiet and efficient when bringing amazing meals directly to customers’ doors. The ability of the GSD to carry even more of people’s favorite meals will make delivery even more efficient and open up new possibilities which we are excited to explore.”
The Tern GSD is designed for larger and heavier loads; powered by Bosch, the company say the utility e-bike “features a robust, specially-designed frame with cargo-specific components” adding to the benefits of easy manoeuvrability that e-bikes bring to urban traffic and doorstep delivery.
