Batribike has just announced that it has been appointed as the UK cycle trade distributor for the tow ball mounted Cykell bike carrier.
The Belgian Cykell is termed the “just click” bike carrier since you place the carrier onto the tow ball, unfold the rack and then click to secure (a red/green indicator confirms it is clamped securely).
Batribike believes that the ease of use, alongside both the quality of the build and its components will make this cycle carrier as popular in the UK as it is in Europe.
Both the 2 bike and 3 bike versions are rated to 60kg. There is also an optional loading ramp to allow bikes to be wheeled into position.
The bicycle rack locks onto the tow ball for security, with the same key used to lock each individual bike to the rack using the lockable arms. The rack can be tilted to allow access to hatchbacks even when bikes are loaded.
The company say the “Cykell bike carrier is compact when folded but the “just click” system allows the user to extend the lights and wheel trays easily. The lights come with a 13 pin plug and a 7 pin adaptor as standard.”
Sue Coulson told Pedelecs: “We had the 2 bike version on display at the East of England Electric Bike Show and were delighted with the response. Everyone who saw it instantly understood how easy it is to use and how compact it is for storage. It is rated to 60kg so it will comfortably take 2 electric bikes.
“We saw the carrier at the Amsterdam Show earlier in the year and were impressed with its simple to use just click system. The system has won a 2014 Red Dot Design Award and we feel that the quality and ease of use of the product means that it sits very well with our current products.”
The Cykell carrier comes complete, built and ready to use straight out of the box.
