Hesling, a Dutch company with a history of producing chain covers, have launched the ‘Cudo’, a Bosch motor cover available in a variety of colours.
In 2015, electric bike styling is often centred around the sporty sense of fun riding one brings. Bright blues, oranges, red, metallic hues and fluorescent splashes have, over the years, replaced the more utilitarian shades of earlier e-bike designs. The motors driving them have remained resolutely in the territory of a very practical black however.
Hesling are therefore aiming the product at manufacturers wanting to create an ‘all-new look’ to style and distinguish Bosch mid-motor e-bikes.
The company aim to offer the Cudo in a wide variety of colours to create a ‘clean but colourful style’ – with motor colours that can be matched to the bike’s frame colour.
Hesling told Pedelecs that future plans may include offering covers as an accessory for individuals wanting to customise their e-bikes. They said: “We will sell these covers only to manufacturers in the first place, but in the future we may decide to sell them as an after-market product, in a few colour options.”
