This month sees the launch of a new website for the UK’s Electric Bike Association for manufacturers, distributors and retailers.
The aim of the website is to provide more detailed information with regular updates on BEBA’s achievements as the market grows.
BEBA Chairman, Mark Loveridge, told Pedelecs: “As BEBA moves from strength to strength, it’s important that we communicate our activities to our member base and users of electric bicycles. To aid this we are very pleased to have launched our new website, which can be updated much quicker than the previous. Please keep your eyes peeled to stay abreast of all developments within the industry.”
BEBA’s role is to promote the use of electric bikes in the UK. As part of that, the organization informs and represents both the industry and e-bikers alike in discussions with the government on a number of wide-ranging legislative issues to ensure best interests for both the growing industry and electric bike use, from permitted e-bike power to transportation of e-bikes with batteries installed. BEBA is currently also working with the Government to look at financial incentives to increase take-up of electric bikes in the UK.
The growing organisation hopes to enroll further manufacturers and distributors, alongside retailers, to support and grow electric bike use in the UK. Existing members adhere to a code of practice, providing reassurance and ‘consumer confidence’ for potential purchasers that they are buying from a company offering electric bikes fully compliant with regulations with support and after-sales care, servicing and ‘back-up’ – including a healthy inventory of spares for purchasers should the need arise.
