First showcased at last autumn’s NEC Cycle Show, Batribike tells Pedelecs about its new fleet of 6 electric bike models.
Sue Coulson delves into the details on functionality as well as the design of the new range: “The Batribike 2017 range is hand built in Europe, using a Danish-designed electrics system. Several of the bikes feature ‘hidden’ batteries and there are also options to upgrade battery capacity, plus a choice of display. In addition to that, there is also the option to upgrade the transferable battery warranty to 5 years.”
On the issue of security, Coulson adds that Batribike “continues to be the only electric bike company to fit the Datatag Stealth Pro marking system as standard to all bikes in our range, but we also provide a free month of electric bike insurance from Lexham to complete the package”.
Batribike detail the highlights of the new models below:
Batribike Alpha
The Batribike Alpha features Shimano Altus hydraulic disc brakes on front and rear wheels, Shimano Acera 24 speed (8×3) gearing and suspension forks. Mudguards and lights fitted as standard.
Choice of colours – Hunter Green, Earth Brown or White Shadow.
Batribike Delta
The Batribike Delta features Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, Shimano Acera 27 speed gears, suspension forks with hydraulic lockout and Schwalbe Rapid Rob 29” tyres.
The removable 10.4Ah battery is conveniently fitted in the frame to keep the centre of gravity down.
Available in matt black.
Batribike Omega
The Batribike Omega features Shimano Nexus 7 speed hub gears and Tektro V brakes. Traditionally styled with 26” wheels and colour matched mudguards, chain guard and forks. 10.4 Ah battery as standard.
Choice of colours – Hunter Green, Earth Brown or White Shadow.
Batribike Sigma
The Batribike Sigma aims to be one of the lowest step-through folding electric bikes available on the market today. The Sigma features Shimano Nexus 7 speed hub gears and Tektro V brakes. Hub gears do make a big difference when transporting this bike, no awkward derailleur to catch.
Choice of colours – Hunter Green, Earth Brown or White Shadow.
Batribike Perdu
Perdu means hidden, and that is exactly what you get from this bike, the 10.2 Ah Panasonic battery is hidden in the chain case, nestling between the upper and lower part of the chain. This position brings the centre of gravity of the bike right down.
Shimano Nexus 7 speed hub gears, Tektro brakes and 28” Schwalbe Road Cruiser K-Guard tyres are some of the key features.
Available in blue, magma pearl.
Batribike Quintessential
Classically styled and complete with front basket and the 10.4 Ah battery tucked away into the saddlebag. Key features are Shimano Nexus 7 speed hub gears, Tektro brakes and colour-matched mudguards, chain guard and forks.
The Quintessential is available in glossy Garnet Red with gold graphics and coach lines.
