Peak Distrist based Juicy Bike has this month launched what they’re calling their ‘most refined bike ever’. The Juicy Roller retails at £1455 and £1605, depending on which battery size you choose.
The torque-sensing 250w Aikema hub motor can be powered by either a 10.4Ah (33 mile range) or 13Ah (50 mile range) battery, with £150 difference to the price tag if you opt for the bigger range; the battery is semi-integrated into the frame for a sleeker look. The LED control display offers the rider 5 assistance levels to choose from.
With Tektro hydraulic disk brakes, Kenda tyres, Shimano 8 Speed Acera derailleur gears and an 18” frame, the bike will suit riders weighing up to100 Kgs (while still allowing for 25Kg luggage).
With an overall weight of 19.5 Kgs, Juicy say the bike has been specced to provide a ‘a lightweight but powerful electric bike, that’s comfortable to ride.’
While the front LED light is powered by the main battery, the rear light is self-powered to remain lit if you find yourself out riding later in the day and having used up the battery.
The company hope the bike’s practicalities and aesthetics will have broad appeal, saying: “The Roller combines the very best aspects of the Juicy Bike range with a whole host of new and exciting features. We’ve carefully engineered the software and hardware to produce a responsive, light-weight e-bike able to cope with the most demanding commutes and adventurous weekends.”
