Recycling a BMS

I was wondering wether the BMS from a synergie 36v 10ah battery that has phylion liCo cells (I think !) could be recycled into a new pack with rc lipo packs

The voltage charges and cutoffs are the same, again I think, so I thought this could maybe be a way to have plug n play lipo ? (up to point I fully appreciate !)

Could anyone technical advise on this one ?

Thanks as ever

It should be OK, but you need to check that it's workinh properly. Many BMSs that I checked were cutting off too low if at all. You really need to check that every chanel will trip the LVC and HVC at the right point, and that the transistors that open the bleed resistors will all open too. I think that there were some fires on ES because people trusted their BMS with lipos.

Thanks d8veh - good to know

What's the best way to do this practically ? I could wire 10 x 18650 cells to the BMS. Then charge and test along the the way

Then substitute one full , 4.2v, cell with one at 3.2v , one series at a time, as long as the BMS never outputs when this low cell is connected to any series

Does that sound about right ? Or is there a better way ? Thanks again
