Afternoon all

I've made 4 x 11.1v packs from scavenged 18650 cells. They are complete with balance leads, xt60 connectors and lipo alarms. They are all between 11 and 13ah packs. I also have a 7.4v pack. Five packs in total then but loads more cells if I wish
r more

I use one at a time as a booster battery on my bike and for other applications as well

Is there any major flaw in using them as a modular battery system ? Ie seriesing them to run a bike at 44.4 or 48v, individually as boosters or in parallel to run a 12v power system for camping

I'm aware I'm an enthusiastic amateur with ideas and could be missing something major !!

Thanks all

You can use them how you like - series or parallel. Just remember to disconnect them from series before charging. Letus know how they perform, in particular, sag.

Finally got to test the Mistral and the modular battery system

Hooked up 4 homemade packs ( 3 x 11.1v and 1 x 7.4v) to the homemade sieries harness.

This is hacked into the top half of the battery . Once the bike gets home (7 miles away from my work) I can dispense with this. I couldnt work on the bike so the xt60 connection runs thorugh the battery lock/top section until I can

pack read 45.6v to start. Off I went, PAS and throttle both working fine, brakes hopeless ! need new pads and/or adjusting

one of the crank arms is wobbly - not sure if just needs tighteneing or is bust in some way
.Im not very good with bike mechanics

2.5 mile juant round central brighton on both eco and sport modes. I couldnt tell the difference to be honest

Bike does about 19mph on the flat on throttle alone and the 6 gears worked through just fine

I did some hills, nothing very long or very steep. The motor is 200w rated but got up the hills just fine with light pedealling and could do it on throttle alone too - speed dropped down to 14mph at this point

How much is voltage sag and how much just the 200w motor I cannot say.

At end of couple of miles pack read 44v

What it isnt is partuclarly quiet - i was suprised at how much motor noise there was especially as I'm used to a overvolted 8fun run at 48v. Especially as my 8fun is a front motor and this is a rear

Handling feels abit odd with these elongated bikes

Overall happy with test and will ride it home on Monday. Also happy my modular batteries worked and the harness too. Not sure if I will keep this bike or not though - it was for my wife but she is back pedalling away from the whole cycling idea
