Apologies, the website of our primary London dealer, namely the London Electric Bike Company of Hampton Wick has crashed 4 times this week due to a number of cyber attacks. It's obviously a competitor who is envious of the success of that dealer-I wonder who it might be?
The LEBC server provider is investigating the source of these attacks and we are currently strengthening the security of that site.
Sad that some electric bike dealers are so desperate for sales that they have to resort to such tactics.
London Electric Bike Company will be back on line as soon as possible.
Regards
KudosDave

unlikely.
More likely cause: your LEBC website uses one of those authoring systems like Wordpress - they are constantly under attack by web bots - they need hardening or frequent updates.

KudosDave is a smart cookie & a shrewd businessman.

Have to wonder at times whether some of his 'more controversial' posts should be taken (just) at face value.

trex - I agree - as a website developer (using Joomla CMS) I often see brute force password attack on the admin backend/frontend using bots from distributed servers from around the world that rack up an incredible amount of attempts/hits in a few hours. Wordpress sites are the most numerous CMS and if not kept fastidiously updated can be very vulnerable.

I'm only a newbie here but I hope KudosDave humbly offers his apologies for the slur he's made from his error of attribution.

Kudos Dave has been know to start controversial threads before and a cynical person might construe this as another such thread just to generate publicity.

Cynical, moi?;)

Haha KD you do make me chuckle.
Considering some eBike dealers have only just figured out how to get their website online I think its hard to imagine anyone in the trade launching a multi national cyber attack on your servers!

Your website information is likely stored on servers containing lots of other companies websites. Its unlikely that someone is targeting you in particular. Its more likely the attack is being done remotely by robots and is attacking a much larger interest on the same server. This meaning your site goes down as a result.

Do I sound like I know what Im talking about? Maybe I should stop now... It wasnt me... Honest, I don't know much about computers.. Lets not start war now Dave. Dont send the heavies round! Please...

Apart from anything else, I doubt the average thicko ebike dealer would have the wit, invention and ability to do it.

I mean, some of 'em struggle to fix a broken spoke.
