I like fat bikes and I like electric fat bikes even more. And I stumbled upon this. Fantic...Fantic..then the name rang a bell, mopeds from my youth!

This one looks actually quite good. Bluto fork, Brose motor with removable battery, SRAM GX kit. And pricing is on par with KTM Macina Freeze. And they even have distributor in Finland! I might have to check this out.

I was just looking at Instagram, and the above bike came up. Having not seen it before, where does the first search take me.. Here. :D

I wasn't interested in the fat bike, but wanted to look at their mtb range. Ugly springs to mind.

I like the look of fat bikes. A friend has one (non-electric) and they are very capable off road, on par with a conventional mountain bike when terrain is taken overall. What I like is the simplicity of using tyres for pneumatic suspension and for traversing soft ground. MTB manufacturers seem to be in competition to see who can come up with the most whacky rear suspension linkage, and for some unknown reason this annoys me. It's a bit like the torque produced by electric motors in Ebike power units, both pointless to the same degree. The big tyre concept is a refreshingly simple idea, but I suspect it is rooted in fashion. Rolling resistance is surprisingly low too.

They might have been better to have chosen another motor. Yamaha would have been an interesting match.

Incidentally, why would anyone want to connect a telephone to a bicycle? What next, trumpets with eggs attached?

I think that a small format touch screen tablet instead of the cheap Chinese console supplied with kits is a good idea. It is connecting a small computer to your controller and you get the added functions computer control can bring. I would prefer a USB connection over Bluetooth because the Bluetooth signal can be jammed and there are situation where that is not a good thing (tm) to happen...

- per cell charge details in real time
- fine control over PAS levels (for those times you need PAS level 3.5 and not 4)
- GPS navigation (one device on the handlebars instead of two)
- cadence meter
- a clock (why can't the Chinese put a damned clock in their LCD's?)
- take the screen off the bike when parked rendering it useless to thieves
- And when you get home the ability to dump all of that into your big computer.

A weather resistant smart phone (second hand) foots the bill rather handily. I don't have a phone account so it would become a smart terminal rather than a phone in my case.
